The 10 Best Things to do in St. Michaels, Maryland (MD)

December 11, 2021 Rosalyn Ihle

Calling itself "The Heart & Soul of the Chesapeake Bay," the town of Saint Michaels, Maryland retains the look and feel of a 19th century seaport. Walk on red brick sidewalks past the Victorian homes and boutique shops of the historic district, or head down to the pier in search of famously fresh seafood. The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum preserves the history of Saint Michaels, with restored examples of "bugeyes" and "skipjacks," unique boats developed by the fisherman of Chesapeake Bay.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our massages. She is working remotely and I knew she could use a break and help get some relief from her “tech neck”. I took the day off from my work and had a great staycation day capped off by a great massage. Highly recommend!

This is a great gallery!! I couldn't decide WHICH piece to buy. Fortunately, there are prints available - made it more affordable. I ended up buying the perfect piece for my upstairs bedroom. It was, I'll admit - a little bit off mark from the normal work of Peter Gregorio -he's mainly about unbelievable sunsets on the eastern shore, boxers and gritty things like old abandoned boats. (NOT JUST THAT!! JUST SAYIN!!) But I loved his point of view and found something that was perfect for me - something pretty unusual. When I wake up in the morning and see this piece of mainly aqua, with a bit of pink and red, it makes me happy.

This is a great shop on the eastern shore, having won the most unique gift shop on the eastern shore by What's Up Magazine. It is a very eclectic shop with something for everyone from a Kid's room with childrens & baby clothing and unique toys and books not found in your big box stores. When you walk into the shop you will find an extensive selection of signs with the ability to custom signs as well as wine glasses, pottery, coasters, and more. The shop is stocked with Woodwick candles, Jim Shore, Willow tree, homemade soaps and candles, wine accessories, and of course what would a shop on the eastern shore be if they didn't sell crab glasses, trays, wine bottle stoppers, napkins, towels and more. Dave from Shore Pedal and Paddle was awesome. It was easy to text with him to arrange our SUP. He drove the paddle boards down to the water 1 block and helped us carry and launch them. He provided good recommendations and warnings about the wind! We had so much fun SUPing, we came back the next day and rented bikes. The equipment and service was great! Highly recommend!

We adore this little shop and come here a few times a year to stock up on olive oils and balsamics. In fact, Olivins oils and balsamics are the only thing we use on our salads and in our cooking now. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and he has a ton of great ideas as far as using the various oils and balsamics in recipes. Definitely a great little shop. Looking forward to our next visit to St. Michael's and stopping in again.
