Ocean City Boardwalk

With its quaint storefronts, amusement rides and Music Pier, Ocean City is everything you'd expect from the real Jersey shore. This family-friendly town boasts a two-mile boardwalk dotted with amusements, pizza parlors, and seaside stores.

The Ocean a City, NJ Boardwalk has something for everyone except someone looking for alcohol. There are a variety of places to eat, ice cream and candy stores, amusement piers, water parks, arcades, various clothing, jewerly, etc. stores but no bars. The Boardwalk is safe, no bums or no people asking for cigarettes or money. B But the gulls will steal your pizza slice if you aren't careful.

We fish here year round. This year the Stripers won as we didn't get any. Got some awesome size Flounders and weakfish. The bay is well marked until November but easy to navigate. Small beach by the Liquor store and small beach by Kennedy Park. Water is clean and there's 2 gas stations within a half mile of each other on the water for boats. Free boat dock by the bridge.

Lucy the Elephant

Originally named Elephant Bazaar, this six-story elephant-shaped building was built in 1881 by James V. Lafferty, Jr. in hopes of selling parcels of land located on the beach in Margate, New Jersey. Over the years, this unique structure has served many purposes -- most notably as a tourist attraction. Today, Lucy the Elephant is recognized as the Oldest Roadside Attraction in the United States and has been declared a National Historic Landmark. Guided Tours through the elephant structure occur every half-hour during business hours, with the last tour of the day beginning 30 minutes prior to closing. And don't forget to shop our Gift Shop for all of your elephant-themed items, including one-of-a-kind Lucy the Elephant souvenirs available nowhere else!

Tour, which is about every half hour, takes about 15 to 20 minutes, but worth it. Guide tells you about Lucy's history and remains available for questions. No bathrooms - go across street to restaurant (they allow it, as the restaurant uses Lucy's parking lot) but the men's room in restaurant has no changing table. Great views from the howdah of Atlantic and Ocean cities. Not something I would go to repeatedly, but go at least once. Inside staircases are narrow and twisting, so recommended that small ones be carried.

When was the last time you saw candy cigarettes? Shrivers has them, along with some iconic favorites (goldmine gum, rock candy) and some you can't believe still exist (pixie sticks, those wax soda shapes w/colored liquid). Go for the chocolate truffles in the glass cases or take home some boxed chocolates. Though I'm not a taffy fan, it was fund seeing it being made.

We came here for our yearly family reunion. Park is great for our reunion because it gives the kids time to run around and play at the playground. The park overlooks the ocean/bay area with lots of trees and offers picnic tables and grills. Only drawback is the fly's that keep biting your legs. Bring bug repellent with you. You can also rent the pavilion if you so desire.

Growing up, we went to Wildwood. As I started my own family, we continued to go to Wildwood- and then did a few summers in Florida. We decided one year to give Ocean City, New Jersey a try. We loved it. It is a dry town but there are restaurants and bars in nearby towns (a 5-10 minute drive). We love the south end and we stay there because of the quiet residential environment. We drive to the boardwalk when we go, which is only once or twice as we do not have young children. The beach is clean. We rent through Berger Realty each year and they are so easy to work with! I can’t wait to go back!

My nephew and I booked a trip through Captain Brain and had a great time. Having a great charter trip goes much further than if you caught fish... Captain Brian was an encyclopedia of knowledge when it came to the bay. Not only did we talk about the fishing, he also directed us to many of the bird nesting sights and wildlife near the water.

We were doing technical fishing for striped bass (not something I am particularly good at) but Capt Brian made it very easy for us and continued to teach us easy to learn techniques that I will take away from the trip.

Capt. Brian put us on fish almost immediately after departing. We fished several spots throughout the bay that kept it fun for us. His knowledge of the tides, currents and feeding patterns of the fish made our night an exceptional night!

The only negative point about the whole night was when Captain Brian said those words... "Alright, one last cast before we head home." With such a great evening on the water, you never want it to end!

The boat is perfect for small groups - any larger than three to a group would make the boat pretty tight. The smaller boat is a necessity for getting us into places inaccessible to the larger boats.

Captain Brian is more than a guide and was a great instructor. If you never picked up a rod or if you are an old salt, he will teach you how to catch some fish! I consider myself a relatively experiences fisherman and I came away with some great lessons in technical fishing. My nephew was a relative beginner and quickly picked things up after a few lessons with the Captain.

Badfish charters are highly recommended to small groups looking for a great trip the water with a knowledgeable, experienced and friendly guide. We cannot wait to book another trip with him soon!!!

My husband works out at Greate Bay as do I. We both get injured or sore from our workouts occasionally so he decided to buy a deep tissue massage from Jessica. He said it was one of the best massages he has ever had and he has had many because he believes in the healing powers of massage for sports injury as well as relaxation. The last time he went to have one I decided to try one also and had Crystal do mine. She was unbelievably good, and had a great attitude. I was like a dishrag when she finished but I mean that in a good way. I think I fell asleep that night at about 8 pm I was so relaxed. I highly recommend Blu Wave spa for their massage services. They are extremely professional and the facility is gorgeous plus they give you a white robe and slippers when you leave and you can go into the locker room for a steam or dry sauna before your shower. I bought my husband and I a package for 10 and look forward to every one! The packages are the way to get the price down which is great.

I am a Jersey Shore native dating back 4 generations when my great-grandfather was the weatherman of Atlantic City. That's why I was so surprised to find out how much I learned on the Donald Trump's Gambling Heritage Tour. This 1-hour walking tour is a great way to feel like a local and explore the city for the first or hundredth time!

Tours are led by local historian Levi Fox, who provides wit, humor, knowledge, and unique insight. Levi takes you behind the scenes of a city that is seemingly dominated by tourists, pizza counters, and casinos to give you an idea of the culture and politics that shaped the history of this embattled city, from it's glory days during the "Boardwalk Empire" all the way through the recent rise and fall of the Trump Empire.
