Meadeville Farm Pumpkin Patch is a pumpkin farm with lots of fun extras. We are now located on Auburn Rd (Rts 5 & 20) coming into Seneca Falls at the big red barn. Even on rainy days, you can comfortably paint a pumpkin while listening to live music! Enjoy our petting zoo, Terrifying Sheet Maze, pumpkin and face painting, bean bag toss, doughnuts and warm steamy drinks. We are an honor system farm stand weekdays and during the Summer so please be prepared with cash. Our items change daily based on availability. We either grow it or purchase from local farms. On weekends in the Fall we are staffed and accept credit cards. We are actually slightly closer to Seneca Falls than the map shows.

I've been to many breweries, and there are countless times when beers just don't live up to their billing. For instance, plenty of breweries have chocolate stouts that are not chocolatey at all. They rely on chocolate malts. It's not enough. They just taste like an average, roasty stout. My wife and I recently made a trip to Fleur De Lis Brew Works, and we tried the chocolate stout, the peanut butter porter, and the almond biscotti (golden ale). I don't gush over beer very often, but I was very pleasantly surprised when the beers really tasted like what it said they were, and fr more than just a hint of the taste. It's obvious that the owners use real ingredients - a lot of it - and really care about the process. Fleur De Lis had, overall, some of the consistently best beer of any place we've been too.

I was very happy to see this large expanse preserved for wildlife. The day we visited it was very hot, in the mid-90s. No one else around when we arrived, but a couple cars drove in while we were there. We walked a trail to the lookout tower and the viewing platform. Not a lot of wildlife to see from there on this day. however, we then drove the gravel road loop and saw an eagle, ducks and geese. The loop is a very quiet drive until you reach the north end which is abuts the busy freeway. Well worth a visit. The visitor center was closed due to the pandemic so we did not get to see what may have been offered there.

When we are in the Finger Lakes we always stop by Montezuma Winery and each time the staff members are both friendly and informative, the samplings are no-pressure and fun, and then we purchase our favorite wine, Fat Frog Blush. The store has unique offerings of wine-related items and food and gifts - and the tastings and events there sound very enjoyable. Our favorite winery!

My husband and I are wine lovers and have visited Napa and Sonoma, CA several times, done the wine trails in CT, PA, and VT, and have tasted wines from Italy, France, Germany, and other regions around the world. We decided to take an impromptu trip over the weekend to do the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail in NY. The Cayuga Lake wine trail guide is an excellent resource and can be found online by googling the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. The guide includes a map of all the wineries with the addresses and hours of operation, restaurants in the area, and places to dine and stay. The guide is very accurate. The wineries are all located along the main highway and are easy to find. Most of the wineries charge a reasonable $5 tasting fee to taste 5-6 wines which are plenty of wines to taste. I found that if you seemed interested in buying wine, they let you taste more for no extra charge. If you are a seasoned wine lover and have a more experienced pallet, most of the wines will fall short of those in Napa and Sonoma with the exception of the wines produced by Lucas and Swedish Hill. The rieslings, pinot grigio, and chardonnay/riesling blends from Lucas and Swedish Hill, we found were up to par with CA, WA, and German producers. Lucas and Swedish Hill also have more experienced wine staff behind the counters who did an excellent job describing the wines and guiding us to the wines we might prefer. At Swedish Hill, you will get to see Doobie, the farm's miniature donkey, and Sven, the miniature horse, both are very friendly. Even if the wines are not so great at the rest of the wineries, it is worth visiting them for some of the spectacular views, unique gift shops, entertainment, and food. Most of the wineries allow you to sit and sip a glass of wine and enjoy the entertainment on the weekends. Americana has a live band on Friday night and a cafe that makes great pizza. The Thirsty Owl has a cafe with outdoor seating overlooking Lake Cayuga. The food was very good and reasonably priced but the service is slow so be prepared to wait. The wine tasting room was very crowded on Saturday so we didn't get to do a tasting. Goose Watch is the sister winery to Swedish Hill. The wine tasting room is located on a hill with a breathtaking view of the Lake. You can sit on their outdoor deck and enjoy a glass of wine will viewing the lake. They also have a brewery onsite next to the wine tasting room where you can sample their beers. The beer was better than the wine. The staff was not as knowledgeable about the wine or beer as the staff at Swedish Hill. Montezuma and Knapp both had nice gift shops with some interesting wine-themed items. There are no major hotels along the wine trail. Only some Bed and Breakfast places. Buttonwood winery has beautiful grounds and has log cabins on the property you can rent for the night. Varrick also has an Inn. We stayed in Seneca Falls at the Hampton Inn which was very nice and came with free breakfast but was grossly overpriced at $259 for one night. More hotel options are available in Ithaca. It is better to plan your lodging ahead of your trip so you are not scrambling to find a place to stay at night like we did. In addition to visiting the wineries, we also stopped at the Muranda Dairy Farm in Senecca Falls for a cheese tasting. What a great place for a function! The barn converted into a tasting room overlooks the fields and is decorated in white lights. The cheese was amazing especially the cheddars and the blue cheese which is the best I have ever tasted. The cheese is made fresh on the farm and is reasonably priced. Definitely worth the stop. Overall the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail is worth visiting.

Very interesting small museum about the local history and cultural importance of the area. Free of charge, it has a variety of types of installations that bring to life the development of the area. Quite the industrious town back in the hey day of American manufacturing and ingenuity. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our visit to the museum. I planned our whole trip around the town, as my wife is a HUGE fan of the movie. The place is small and can be covered in a couple of hours. Each display has a card or note explaining its significance and often an entire story. We loved browsing through the old memorabilia and just enjoying the memories contained in the museum. They have some big plans for the anniversary, so stay tuned.

Given this museum is part of the National Park Service, there is no fee to enter. Had there been one, the cost to enter would be miniscule for the amount of history that you can obtain there. Most of us dont realize the trials and tribulations women have had to endure for the right to vote. Had it not been for the language in our founding documents that read "all men are created equal" women might not have been treated as 2nd class citizens for so many years. It is hoped, that now that Virginia became the 38th state to pass the ERA. congress must act to amend the constitution once and for all. It has been more than 95 years that the states have had to pass their own legislation to force the adoption of this amendment. I want to emphasize again, that there was no fee when we were there on Thursday 11/07/2019.
