We took a day trip here for my birthday in September with some friends. Great wine and beer selection. Love that they have live music and have food trucks for a bite to eat. The only negative would be that they need more seating especially with shade. We had a great time although it was very Hot!

HOURS Sunday - Thursday: 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday: 11:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Good ideas often start over beer. Always looking to take a good thing too far, we sat down over a beer (or two) and decided that beer itself was a good idea. Of course, not just some easy-drinking, institutional prole beer, but stuff like the beers we'd had at great bars. In short, we wanted beer with flavor. Complexity. Character. Intensity. Not words found in the mass-market lexicon. So with a banjo burner, a bunch of industrial-sized kitchen pots and as many buckets as we could find, we jumped in feet first. Once a week, every week. This led to brewing twice a week and handing out bottle after bottle to everyone we knew. Now, several years later and with a 15 bbl version of our banjo burner and kitchen pots for a brewhouse, we're befuddling the beer judges and converting the masses. One pint at a time. Located in the small lakeside town of Sawyer, MI, Greenbush crafts beers with names like Anger, Closure, Mammoth and Doomslayer-and with nothing under 6% ABV, the monikers are indicative of the styles. The brewery serves beer and a full menu out of its Sawyer taproom seven days a week and currently distributes to bars, restaurants and retailers throughout the state of Michigan, in metro Chicago and Northern Indiana.

Stopped by here as we headed north. Did a sampler of 4 beers....mild to strong. Of course, liked some better than others, but there is something for everyone. We were not ready to eat at the time we were there, but the food looked delicious and plentiful. Want to go back just to get a meal!

Worth going in the off season for the elbow room - beautiful and immediate views of the lake and dunes from the parking lot, minimal infrastructure on site though.

Started off with brunch which they do every Sunday. Its only $20 and it has your breakfast staples like french toast, eggs, bacon, potatoes, etc. But it also had a taco bar, pizza station, donut bar, hot dog cart and bloody mary bar. The food was great! They had some great offerings for vegetarians and vegans. The fresh squeezed OJ was not included but very good and indeed fresh. They also have a full menu.

After brunch we took the distillery tour. $10 a head. There we were able to walk the workshop floor where they craft their amazing liquors. We learned about the distilling process, how they use their materials, about the machinery and even got to taste 180 proof bourbon! Talk about putting hair on your chest! We also got some great history on the building, the founders and the company where it is today.

Last was the fun part, the tasting. We were able to taste 14 of their offerings. You read right, 14. Yum.
Various flavors of vodka, rum, gin, whiskey and liqueurs. They have some great blends including a 4 grain whisky and a jalepeno infused spirit, in which we took both home!

This was a fun visit and can easily be a great day trip. The Three Oaks area is a very cute small town which is a welcome break for us city slickers. There are antique shops, quaint theaters and shopping nearby. Only about an 1 hour 20 min drive from the southside of Chicago.

After a disappointing visit to another winery, we stopped in at St Julian's where Adrienne was fantastic. She gave us a great history lesson on St Julian's and helped in the selection of wines to sample. We not only enjoyed our conversation but plan to return. As you can tell, we highly recommend this stop if your in the area. Did I say, sample cost is $6 for 5 selections and you keep the glass which was 1/2 the cost of the other place where you got nothing extra than the samples.

If you see little boats in the picture this is also a relaxing way to enjoy the River/marsh/County park. We (21 k yachts) put in at the riverside boat landing behind the Beach which has a $7 in state fee per boat. Parking free Just off the red arrow highway is a rental location also. The day was gorgeous, the river flat, winds light and we looked up at the people taking our picture on the high lookout the other reviewers discribe. Many birds, turtles, and no bugs (what's up with that?).

We visited the tasting room on a Monday on our way out of town after the Apple Cider Century. We had ridden our bikes past the Baroda estate several times but had never sampled the wine. What a fantastic experience! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful (I'm sure it helped that we visited at a rather slow time in the middle of the afternoon.) We don't know much about wine but our server made us very comfortable and was very down to earth. She listened to our preferences and made recommendations based on our feedback. We had so much fun!

It was $12 per person for a 6 sample tasting; this included a mini stemless glass to take home. When it became clear that we were interested in making a larger purchase, we ended up trying several other samples (for free) as we attempted to narrow down our preferences. Try the sangria! We left with a couple of howlers as part of the case that we purchased. If you love Irish cream, try the Black Walnut Creme over ice or in your coffee. We even bought a few of these to give as gifts.
