Monsul Beach

Stunning stunning beach. Chrystal clear waters and beautiful sand dunes with really cool rock formations on both sides of the beach. Perfect for snorkelling or swimming. No beach shop or anything nearby so come prepared! The car park nearby charges a fiver to park for the day which is fair enough and the road to the beach is apprx 10 minutes on a bumpy unsurfaced road but honestly even the oldest banger could drive it easily.

Marvelous boat tour of the marine reserva and coves, created by volcanic activity. Marian knows her stuff, speaks much better English than we do Spanish. Welcomed us all warmly. Snorkeling was lovely. Highly recommended. She also does boat rides without snorkelling, and yoga on the beach.

I wasn't really sure what to expect from my 'observation of the stars' experience but was very pleasantly surprised. Inaki is super enthusiastic, knowledgable, brilliant at explaining complicated concepts, but most of all he makes the experience really fun. He speaks brilliant English which means it's really easy to arrange things too. I expected the experience to be about an hour long and we actually spent about 2 and a half hours looking at constellations and moon craters. Treat yourself and book this - you won't regret it!

This is a lovely sandy beach bay with golden sand very popular with tourists and locals.
The whole beach area is very picturesque and there are several bars and restaurants facing onto the beach for when the thirst or hunger pangs hit you.
Well worth visiting, especially if you are beach people.

RollingAlmeria

We saw a flyer advertising 4x4 desert tours in the hotel reception so I rang and booked a tour. The Spanish man said” I pick you up at 4.30pm I be in green car!“
Well if you want big posh new vehicle then trot on as Georgio arrived in his beat up old dusty 4x4 truck. This lovely Spanish guy was very welcoming and it was just myself and hubby so this was a personal tour. The films, ads and music, video location 4x4 route which took us through the Cabo de Gata National Park, including the wetlands, coastal roads and places you could not get to with a hire car or on a coach, Georgio tailored the tour with our interests of a mix of nature, history and spectacular scenic views of coastline, volcanic Mountains, the salt pans, film sets, abandoned buildings and the flamingos and other waders on the saltpan wetlands. He stopped when he could see we were taking photos. He is very knowledgeable of the ecology of the area, and his historical tales were very interesting. As we travelled the dusty tracks he smiled and said the road to nowhere, we not know where we go! I noticed he was looking at his phone a lot and he very cleverly was using it to translate to English so we better understood him. Pure genius of modern technology my friend.
The tour lasted approx. 4 hours and was 35 euros each and for us it was priceless for the experience and the feeling of being special visitors to this guy’s homeland.
And if you like us have a late afternoon tour you may be lucky to see the old Spanish goat herder in the desert, his weathered smiley face was a joy to see as he leads his goats home for the night, absolutely great seeing this local man just going about his daily work.
Rolling Almeria is Georgio’s own business and it is in it’s infancy (his first year) but I think he will go far. There are different activities on offer, boat trips, guided mountain bike routes, Surfing kites and paddles, food and tradition tours, even stargazing and kids’ activities in English!
We would highly recommend Rolling Almeria for guided off the beaten track tours to experience the truly amazing scenery of the Cabo De Gata National Park and surrounding area.
