Historic National Cemetery and Confederate Prison Site

The location was not easy to find. There is a cemetery annex behind the V.A. hospital which some websites list as the location. The historic cemetery contains a mass grave with over 11,000 unknown Union soldiers buried there. The cemetery is not very large and is easy to walk around.

This park has so much to offer. There is everything from two different playgrounds, Carousel and train rides, water feature and a mini Zoo. There is also gem mining, which we partake every time we go. Tons of open space and field and covered areas for barbecues. Just an awesome place which also has a great Festival in the fall, called Autumn Jubilee.
