Because of the low tide we had to reach the Catamaran by speedboat which added excitement to the trip. The transfer out at sea was easy. Most people sat around the net area at the front. Much to everyone's amusement shortly after setting off some people sat at the very front got soaked by a wave from a passing ferry! Children on board were allowed to help lower one of the sails. The crew spoke mainly French but did make a point of coming over to talk to us the only English on board. The price was very good value, a very enjoyable trip.

We were told and shown the story about oyster-farming in the sea -then and now. The tide was not with us, so we did not take the 3 hours walk all the way out to the oysters (7 km) but the bassins, the cabins and the tools at the beach were very interesting and charming. We bouht the oyster-tasting (6 oysters, 5 euro) Very delicious. Afterwards we went to Fifi and Nanous detail-sale, just beside, and bought a lot of oysters for our evening dinner. Even those of us who didn´t like to eat to eat the oysters, enjoyed the visit at the charming place with the small cabins in many colors.

Lovely to visit for 1-2 hours. Car park was full when we arrived but managed to find a spot on the verge outside. The tour is guided and in French but the man was very helpful and spoke a little English to us. We were given a laminated sheet in English to help us. There are 2 main areas with the coypus in and there is a short talk at each. There is a chance for children to hold a young
coypu and be photographed by their family. At the end everyone
was able to feed the coypus carrots which was lovely. They were very tame and could be stroked at this point. I most enjoyed watching them swimming and interacting with each other. The coypus seemed happy and well cared for. In the small gift shop some toiletries were on sale and also some plaster paw prints and fur talisman,
we settled on a paw cast to be on the safe side! Some toy fake fur toys would have sold well and also drinks and ice creams. I didn't notice any hand gel etc but may have missed
It. All in all a very pleasant unique afternoon for us.

Le phare de chassiron

The area at the north of the island is quite commercial on first approach. Suggest you go straight through this unless dying of dehydration and go straight up the lighthouse. The climb is not for the fainthearted and many parents were struggling with very small children as the last few flights are so steep they're virtually ladders. Lovely views from the top though.
Not a lot else to see or do. Would recommend you stop here only if going round the coast road - dont make a special trip of it.
