The Mall at Robinson

Reviewed By JMD0423 - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Large mall with plenty of free parking. Clean, safe shopping. Anchor stores are Macy's, JCPenney and Sears. There's also a large Dick's Sporting Goods store. Food court is ok, but nothing very exciting: Auntie Anne's, Charley's, ChinaMax, Subway, Starbucks, Villa Italian Kitchen, DQ and Chick-fil-a plus maybe a couple more small shops. Bathrooms are clean and well-supplied.

We went for Mother's Day, but did not participate in the brunch that they had. We were there later in the afternoon and had a very pleasant walk. The dogwoods and daffodils had already bloomed, I'm sure they were pretty. There were some tulips still...MoreHi Nancy, Thank you for taking the time to write this review! We are glad you had the chance to enjoy the Garden and we hope to have you back in the fall. The changing leaves are beautiful! -Kevin

Bicycle Heaven is the World's largest bicycle museum and bike shop.

After reading about this establishment on TripAdvisor we felt compelled to visit and we were absolutely delighted we chose to do so. The building is unassuming but step inside and I felt transported to a different world. There were bikes everywhere, of every description and vintage. The ether smelled of bikes. My memory was taken back to my childhood and cycling in the hills with my pals on their Raleigh Choppers. Over 3000 bicycles crammed into every nook and cranny. I felt the passion of the person who had amassed this wonderful collection. What a place, what fun, what nostalgia.

Went to the Pirates opening day as a part of our MLB Stadium tour and was not impressed. Pirates fans were great and created a good atmosphere but the facility itself was a disappointment. Stale, cold pretzels on opening day at the start of the game, Summer Shandy for $13.50/can. Multiple bathrooms had over flowing toilets.... was not managed well. Expect more from an MLB stadium....

This place is beautiful, and the folks there are so lovely. After visiting the Historical Society, the very kind gentleman there phoned over to the library so someone could show us around. We got a wonderful tour of the place inclusive of the music hall and it's spectacular.

Helicon Brewing

Reviewed By tjmoney44 - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

This place was formerly a dog food packaging plant, it is a huge building and they have a large operation (15 barrel system I think) which looks pretty cool inside. Only a small portion of the space is used for the taproom, while they don't have food they apparently allow you to bring food in from the outside. This place is also right on the bike trail near Oakdale, so the location is good, service was fine and there is adequate parking.

So while I really wish I could give Helicon a higher rating, the beer keeps it at just average for me. The beers really felt watered down and it just seemed like they still needed to be tweaked. I really like the location and the space, so I think it has potential. Unfortunately for me right now, the beer wasn't quite there and so it was just average.

The Pub at Tonidale

Reviewed By LBWiles - Fairmont, West Virginia

Don't know why we haven't reviewed this great little place before; a true oversight. We have been coming here for the past 4-5 years when flying out of Pitt and staying at the adjacent Quality Inn (3-4 times a year). I was shocked to see the poor reviews; each to his own, I guess. Hey, this is NOT a 5 star restaurant; it is a 'Cheers'-like, local PUB! We have always found it to be a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The service can be somewhat on the slow side at times, depending on how busy the place is at that particular time; go figure; relax.
They give a 10% discount on non-special food items when you show your Quality Inn room card, if that makes a difference. They have always had a drink and/or food special when we were there. They have 20 beers on tap and a large selection of bottle beers and a small (but varied) liquor bar. The menu is not large, but well varied for Pub food. We usually went for the great burgers or pizza, but this time tried the wings, and they were GREAT; crispy, not chewy.
Again, this is PUB food... but we have never been disappointed in the quality or quantity. It is definitely a 'Cheers" atmosphere; if you are looking for something else maybe go elsewhere; but we have always felt welcomed and at home.
Hey, good beers, cold beers, good Pub food, and friendly folks (both sides of the bar); what more could you ask? Give this place a shot; you may like it!!

Whoever came up with an ice cream flight…genius!!! My husband and I randomly decided to get some ice cream but we did not expect the awesomeness we were about to consume… lemon lavender and fat mint were our favorites. The whisky peach was excellent and the black sheep was great too! The staff was super friendly and exploring the toy shop after eating ice cream was a lot of fun. They even have board games laying around for you to enjoy while you eat your ice cream. Saying we were kids again would be cliche but we definitely were not adults. :)
