Rizhao (Chinese: 日照) is a prefecture-level city in southeastern Shandong province, China. It is situated on the coastline along the Yellow Sea, and features a major seaport. It borders Qingdao to the northeast, Weifang to the north, Linyi to the west and southwest, and faces Korea and Japan across the Yellow Sea to the east.

In summer this is a lively, crowded spot. You can walk a long way along the esplanade and there are shady park areas. There is also a fun park with tame and wilder rides,if you feel so inclined. You can also sail, go speed-boating or paragliding. The beach is really very average so it is better to just watch the excitement or paddle, especially with the green algae plague that appears in warmer weather.

The beach area in Rizhao is quite nice. Even through a longer holiday weekend with many chinese tourists it is possible to find a calm place to realxe and swimm. During the mid-atumn festival a lot of tourists were at the beach so there was waste everywehere. Also the kind of samll amusement park at the beach ruins a little a real beach and seaside feeling at this particular spot. But to have a second choice of nice beach life besides Qingdao in the Shandong Province, Rizhao is definetely it!

I found this park to be average. Like the previous reviewer said its essentially just a couple of dirt roads in a square. The centre of the park has a playground for children. The beach has carnival attractions similar to the ones you find at Rizhao beach during summer. If you are interesting in hiking go to Wulian mountain.
