Awesome winery with fantastic views to the east. Bring a picnic, buy a bottle of wine and enjoy. I love the sangria slush. Every now and then a woman comes with her artisan cheese or maybe a musican. Ian is very personable and love showing you around.

Potato Chip Rock

Good work out if you take the eight mile round trip hike from the Poway lake. Other one is shorter and less scenic? As the saying goes, It is the Journey Not the Destination!
Warning! Think twice before taking the round trip option while returning since it can be very tiring and could add two extra miles of descend/ascend which could be harsh to your already beaten body? Suggest using the same stretch to get back to the parking lot from the junction shown in the picture!
Spring may be the best time to go. Go early morning if you are going in summer. Carry plenty of water, use sun screen and take hiking poles to make it a good experience!
Go on a week day to avoid crowd which can be very annoying based on the comments! Also parking is FREE except weekends and holidays!
Google "City of Poway trails system" for the latest conditions, trail maps and info before your trip!

This review is intended to focus on the restaurant, Italian Cucina, which is on the lower level inside the casino. We have been going to the casino for many years and have utilized all the restaurants. Always viewed the Italian restaurant as somewhat above a 3.
Recently they have made improvements that change the rating to a 4+. Our server was a lady named Manifer. I single her out because she seemed to embody the establishments focus on the customer. We asked for modifications to the menu items and all were perfectly communicated to the kitchen which did an outstanding job preparing a very high quality set of meals
One in particular, "Baby lamb chops", were offered as an appetizer, however, were converted to an main course. Being somewhat a "snob" when it comes to lamb chops, I was "blown away" by the preparation and quality of the meal. In commenting to our server about the change in quality and presentation, the head chef, Christian, came to our table. I'll shorten the story by offering that I would come back to the Casino just to come for another meal here. Clearly the changes are positive and worth your time to give them a try.

Oasis Camel Dairy

WOW!!! This was a completely unexpected, wonderful, interesting, once in a lifetime, fantastic experience. We were looking for something interesting to do to celebrate our 22-year-old's birthday. We booked a private one hour experience for our family of four. Although there are many beautiful animals to see, including some very exotic birds, our hearts were stolen by the camels. If you would like an up close, and personal experience with these awesome creatures, you must come! Mariah was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, and a genuinely kind person. A few tips for the faint of heart. If you are driving down from Orange County, Book the earliest tour available to avoid traffic. We left at 8 AM and arrived in time for our 10 o'clock tour. No traffic whatsoever at this time. Don't let the fear of traffic stop you from coming to the Oasis. Boo, Jasmine, Chip and others, you stole our hearts!

Visiting here in Ramona and wanted to experience some of the winery's. Milagro Farm was my first choice and our first stop. They had the most well put together website and we were not disappointed. They made the facility beautiful, can walk through the vines, bring a snack or a picnic and enjoy the wine. The wine was great and we plan on returning before our trip is over, will likely get a few bottles to bring home and enjoy.

Guy B Woodward Museum

The Guy B. Woodward Museum's Verlaque house is an 1886 original adobe of French Provincial design fully furnished in period antiques. Out buildings include 1874 cowboy bunk house, tack shop and blacksmith shop, 7-ton steel jail, replicas of a one-room schoolhouse, millinery shop and post office. Extensive grounds include a honey processing shed, buggies, wagons, mining and farm equipment, plus extensive archives of local historic biographies, photographs, school records, and newspapers dating to 1800's.

We just returned from a delightful and informative visit to this local museum. It was beyond our expectations. The history of the area is portrayed in an inviting way and has something to interest all age groups. Our guide, Myra, gave us a personal tour filled with interesting stories and the rich history of the area.

Clearly, people in Ramona care to learn about their history. One of the very interesting aspects of this a is library of books called Voices of Pioneer Women. I wish we lived close enough to borrow some of these books.

This is a treasure that I highly recommend to anyone in the area. It is also very reasonably priced at $5 for adults and $1 for children.

Principe di Tricase Winery

We make Italian wine the Italian way! Award winning wines from Aglianico, Nebbiolo and Aleatico grapes. Passito sweet dessert wines and all natural balsamic vinegars complete our own creations. We have learned to make our products without adding anything to them for a better quality and enhancement of their healthy properties and tasting experience.

We were WOWED by our visit to the Principe di Tricase Winery. We were treated to a passionate and impromptu tour and hands on presentation of the winemaking process. The owner, Alfredo Gallone, shared his story and personally conduced our tasting. He introduced us to several Southern Italian varietals including four very different balsamic vinaigrettes.
