Pyeongchang (Korean pronunciation: [pʰjʌŋtɕʰaŋ]; in full, Pyeongchang-gun [pʰjʌŋtɕʰaŋɡun]; English: /ˌpjʌŋˈtʃɑːŋ/) is a county in the province of Gangwon-do, South Korea, located in the Taebaek Mountains region. It is home to several Buddhist temples, including Woljeongsa. It is about 180 km (110 mi) east southeast of Seoul, the capital of South Korea, and connected by expressways and high-speed passenger railways. Pyeongchang's slogan, "Happy 700 Pyeongchang", is taken from its average elevation of approximately 700 metres (2,300 ft).

We visited the famous Wiljeongsa Temples set among the Fir trees forest by taxi from Alpensia ski fields.
The Bridges crossing a small stream to reach the temples has the best scenic views. Within the temples ground, perhaps it was the day we visited, there was little snow, the Forests looked yellowish due to winter season. Temples are on smaller scale. The fir tree track is easy walking.
There was no activities at all when we visited. Also close by Trout Festival has been delayed due to winter warmer than usual, river yet to froze so fishing choices were very limited.
Temples are accessible by car, taxi. There
is bus but service is infrequent, so if you are press for time, taxi is better. The taxi costs $35000 wons around 30 mins one way. Return trip could be arranged via information centre at car park and again costs $35,000 wons. Woljeongsa entrance costs $3000 won adult, youth $500 won and child under 7 years old free. If budget is a concern, perhaps consider other alternatives.

Took a bit of effort to get the to highest point of the park/ranch where the view was well worth it. But beware, shuttle buses do not run in winter when the roads are icy but you can drive all the way up in your own vehicle. The drive takes about 30 minutes and can be challenging if you're not used to driving in icy conditions. The view was simple breathtaking, snow covered Mountains and wind turbines. Apparently, quite a few Korean dramas and movies were filmed in the area too! This place is highly recommended if you're already in the Pyeongchang/Yongpyong area.

Another great weekend on the slopes at Phoenix, got into a Kpop concert, and had a spa day... This time I did the night skiing and we literally were on the slopes till 1am and they were still running the lifts, after we left. If you are thinking about skiing in Korea I would highly recommend staying at Phoenix, it's the closest thing they have to ski in/ski out, its a small moutain but more than ample for 90% of skiers/boarders, and they have some stuff to keep you entertained. Also there is a great bar "Heineken Lounge," guess what they serve....

From seoul, it takes 3hours at most through highway and easy to find.
It is in Kangwon province, named pure and clean area.
This sheep farm is located in Taeback Mountains with clean and cool wind.
In summer, you can feel cool and green scene.
In winter, you can enjoy the romantic white scene since this area has a lot of snow. You can enjoy the slide on the hill in winter.
You can touch the sheep and feed them as well.
It is a fantastic experience.
One good thing is you can enjoy the Korean east sea when you drive one hour to the east.
Or you can visit Selok mountain in one hour.
You can enjoy fresh fish at a good price.
You can enjoy the beauty of korean nature.
In the fall, the foliage is great as well.

I went Gyeongbangsan. I started from Unduryeong. In my opinion, to meet like snow secenery in the pics you need to contact locals. :)

We visited here during winter and it made me forget that it was freezing outside, Rode on all the slides which are the main attractions, There were very few people so we took the rides multiple times. There is also a wave pool and lazy river and warm pools with water massages. Do visit if you are staying in alpensia as there is a discount.

In 2007 I have been to S-Korean. I stayed at Sangsonsa Temple for 8 Months as practice Korean Buddhism, Cultural, Traditional and learning Korean too. I was facing many problem because of communication with Korean but they helped me a lot of Korean practicing. I love you all and thanks for all of your assist me while I was in there. Especially I hope you would be apologize me and any of my mistake.
It was very very wonderful time and great to learn different Culture, Buddhism, Tradtional
I really hope to see you in sometime again soon

The actual name is just one-word Herbnara Farm. This outdoor garden is huge and full of beautiful flowers in Spring, courtyards after courtyards. We were there 10yrs ago during Autumn and it was miserable with some living plots of herbs only. This time, it's truly worth the trip and you can easily spent half a day, especially attractive for photographers! Other than garden displays, there are many interesting craft shops, herbs related produces, children playground, cafes and restaurants. We had some of the best freshly baked cookies here while staying in Korea. If possible, do make a point to enjoy lunch or afternoon tea here.

I had a great time at the Pyeongchang Olympic market, it was a very interesting place indeed. The food was good and the hospitality was even better. The weather was a bit chilly at the time so the stand owners invited us into the back VIP section of the stores to eat. Their kindness alone was enough to warm the soul. Many of the storefronts were closed due to the timing but, I still got the chance to visit a famous little noodle shop. This noodle shop called Maemil Nara sold a couple of dishes including the traditional korean pancakes called boochinggae. They were delicious, along with the main noodle dish that many celebrities have came and tried for themselves.

My advice is, no need to waste your time to go to this water park AT ALL.
If you have been to many water park before, especially the water park in Singapore at Santosa, this water park is consider very small, items are limited. Worst of all, if you want to go deeper water, you need to RENT a Life Jacket, not cheap, at Korean won 4,000 where Singapore giving for free.
Also, when we step into their water park lobby, we need to take off your shoe... (Do not know why), after putting your shoe in a small shoe locker, then they give you another locker for your towel etc. Many restriction applied.
The water is not really hot enough especially in the winter. The air is freezing near the door and you need to use the staircase to the change room. You will be freezing with wet body on the way to the changing room.
Perhaps there will be fun for age 2 to 6? My son aged 8 just play for 30 minutes already wanting to go back to the hotel room.
The ice cream cost me Korean won 7,000 for a small scoop, worst still, I left mine and my son's swimming trunk there, next day it disappeared and could not be found again.
We were not impressed at all. We will never go to this water park again, it is also a distance of walking to the water park from our hotel, walking thru a big outdoor car park.
