The 10 Best Things to do in Princeville, Hawaii (HI)

May 22, 2022 Jana Sager

Originally planned as a barony of the young Prince Albert, who would never live to see its fruition, the present resort community of Princeville is nothing less than regal with its emerald cliffs overlooking magnificent Hanalei Bay. Two championship golf courses offer challenging fairways and unsurpassed views over the ocean. The coastline is a magical mixture of natural beauty and careful landscaping, with pristine beaches, lush vegetation, crystalline waterfalls and sapphire waters.

Princeville Ranch

Princeville Ranch stands alone as one of the most pristine locations for horseback riding in all of Hawaii. We've been offering one-of-a-kind horseback rides on the north shore of Kaua'i for over 40 years. We are nestled on Kauai's iconic north shore with the Hanalei mountains surrounding us. Ride horses across the ranch lands and then take a short steep hike to our 80 foot waterfall where you can swim and cool off. A short hike up and back on the horses to ride the range completes this epic adventure. We also offer private rides for an exclusive experience. Our guides are experienced and safety conscious and love what they do. They have a passion for showing people a great time and will make you feel right at home. All riding levels welcome. Advance reservations are recommended. Come take a ride with us!

Expecting a typical botanical garden, I knew I would enjoy browsing through the flowers, but this is MUCH MORE. There is a little natural medicine, unexpected and very unusual plants, delightful grounds, a chocolate tasting and instructing, knowledgeable guide (Sara) and definitely worth the price. I would recommend this tour to ANYONE looking for something a bit unusual and entertaining on Kauai. Michelle K

Fish Eye Kauai

We had been looking for a piece of local art to commemorate our wedding in Koloa. We'd searched through the 'high end' tourist art galleries, and throughout the roadside markets. Fish Eye Kauai's art offerings were eye catching, through their storefront window - as we strolled past on the sidewalk. Glad to have found this studio and Abe Kowitz' koa wood art. We would have loved to buy 10 more pieces, it's just that gorgeous, along with all the underwater photography on display. The gal who was working that day was helpful with tips for preserving and transporting our piece.

Did not expect this stay of 5 days to be so beautiful.. it was and way more.. The condos are located by the sea, overlooking imposing cliffs, and has a path down to Hideaways Beach- so amazing and private, with rocks, waves lashing on them.. a good sandy stretch too! The condos were so clean, with full kitchen, 2 full baths, 2 bedrooms sleeping 4, and very comfortable.. The Hideaways Pizza pub served delicious food too! The condos are so close to spectacular northern shore points- The Lighthouse in Kīlauea, Hanalei beach and town with restaurants, Haena beach, Tunnels beach, Ke’e beach , The Hanakapai trail, LIMAHULI Gardens and more! LOVED IT!! Will go back there next time in Kauai!

This is a public beach to the west of the St Regis beach and Hanalei Bay Resort beach access trail. Nice views all day long especially sunsets. Great privacy the farther west you go. Eventually you will run into an outcropping of rocks. Before this you will be on the opposite side of the Hanalei River and the Hanalei Pier.
