At night, walking among the organic rows of the company, one almost has the impression that the stars are delicate perlage, ready to be tasted by those who have the patience to wait for the first sip, of a wine that has been dreamed of as a game and which today it represents the activity of Roberto and Maria Grazia, from passion to life.

Castello medievale fondato dalla famiglia dei Conti Guidi, uno dei monumenti più iconici della valle del Casentino.
Italian castles (castellos) seem to have their own style among all the European fortress like buildings. Poppi Castle is archetypal for many in Tuscany. We stopped at a few others on the SR70 drive from Firenze, and they all are stylistically similar. But Poppi Castle/Conti Guidi is surrounded by a medieval village as well, and still has the feel of the time period. It reminded us a bit of Rothenburg ob der Tauber in Germany, with a similar vibe, but much smaller. Also, similar smaller castle towns in the Loire Valley. The striking thing about the castle specifically, is the amazing condition it is in, and the access you have to see most of it. Many of the castles across Europe are in disrepair, even if the stone fortress is still fairly intact. Poppi castle is incredibly well preserved, wood trims, frescoes, ceilings, walls, trim, everything is as it was (for the most part). It has the feel of a lived in castle that was involved in history, rather than a cartoon like castle theme park that many have evolved to. It is well worth the 1:30 hour trip from Florence if you have the patience for the drive. There are also a dozen of more ruins, and semi intact castles along the way that you can take detours to. Highly recommended for castle junkies and history lovers

The Casentino Golf Club is locate on a panoramic and beautiful hill at about 500asl. From this point one can take in the entire Casentino Valley, the first valley of the Arno River, the green heart of Tuscany and the home of the splendid National Park of the Casentinese Forest. This is an ideal location for those who want to test their technical skills on the green and every hole is unforgettable
