I planned to book a massage at the Riu Guanacaste Resort where I was staying over Christmas with my 2 teenage kids. My kids had never had a professional massage so I thought this would be a great way to spend an hour out of the sun. I met Brisas Del Mar Massage where the path to the beach meets the sand. You can't miss them as they have the white shirts on. We were escorted a few hundred yards down the beach to a series of tents and massage table. Don't let this scare you! It's absolutely worth it! My masseuse was Marlen. She quoted me $35US for an hour massage. Because of the price, my expectations were pretty low but I wanted to share this with my kids who didn't know the difference. I was pleasantly surprised once Marlen began. She was extremely professional and I was treated to one of the best massages I have ever had. I've had massages in the US and Europe and this was without a doubt a better massage than any of those. After talking to Marlen she shared that she used to work for the resorts and they branched out on their own which great news for vacationers who don't want to spend 3x the cost. I was so impressed that I asked Marlen to book me for the next morning before I had to catch a flight home. She met me at 8:30am and this massage was even better than the day before. The massage actually lasted closer to 1hr 15mins and I was completely relaxed for my flight home. If you are staying at the Riu or visiting this beach, I HIGHLY recommend you stop by Brisas Del Mar Massage. They are extremely professional. Well trained. The price is a steal! I tipped Marlen and I hope you do too!

For our anniversary we decided to explore a new place and decided to visit the Tico north pacific. We found a very good airbnb in Playas de Coco and from there moved around the Peninsula de Papagayo. The town itself is pretty busy and has a lot of nocturnal life and restaurants, it even has a Hard Rock Cafe. Please consider this place as a great spot to stay if you are visiting this amazing area of Costa Rica ????????.
