Miller State Park

Alternative for non-climbers where visitors can drive to the 2,288-foot summit.

This park provides lovely hiking trails and beautiful vistas. We opted to drive to the mountain top where we took advantage of a number of the well-marked trails. We also climbed to the top of the old forest ranger tower for even better views. While it was a bit hazy on the day of our visit, the vistas were still breathtaking. As always, bring bug spray in tick season.

Going to this shop is always a great time.
They have tons of unique treasures and lovely terrariums with fun modern elements thrown in.

The staff is attentive, and friendly. Prices on some items tend to be really steep, but it's a high end store and even if you're just walking around you'll enjoy yourself.

From the website this looks like it would be a very impressive library, but the actual street front entrance and inside are ordinary and the inside looks like any other old town library. The book shop next store that is associated with the library was a cute little store to book browse in.

Monadnock Center for History and Culture

A community museum and cultural center featuring exhibits on local history, lectures, events, concerts and other programs exploring and celebrating the rich history and culture of the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire.

Visited here for an event in very accommodating Bass Hall - and found so much more to explore. Artistic displays and a very ambitious schedule of presenters, small entertainments, and activities make area history anything but dull . . . . Engaging volunteers are very helpful, and seems to cover many topics of region and ties to state. Nicely done! Minimal admission to museum; events have their own admission schedule; but a visit can get you a sense of the region and the excellence of what is offered there. Bass Hall is a jewel of a space, with great acoustic resonance we discovered.

I have visited this forest several times and I have to say it is one of my favorite places. Rarely, if ever, crowded, this place offers peace, quiet, tranquility. Sit and listen to the bubbling brook as dragonflies buzz around you. Hike up to the massive boulders left by melting glaciers. Admire the sun peeking through the leaves as you make your way along the rige trail. Hiking is easy and gradual, perfect for any age or ability. Enjoy the calmness this forest provides.
