This is a wide arc of beach good for surfers. Downsides are that there is no shade whatsoever and even the bars don't seem to offer umbrellas for use on the beach. The area is being impacted by rapid development, there are already numerous restaurants and accommodations but more are in course of construction. However at the time of our visit it looked fairly tidy with not too much evidence of litter.
We did enjoy the journey there. Caught a 12.00 bus from Pedasi which takes you though a number of small villages, the road is in very poor condition and it takes over one hour to get there. The bus starts from a road off Avenida Central immediately south from Calle Estudiante close to the bakery.

I recently travelled from the UK to complete my PADI Open Water Certificate with Kerri Lusk-Barnes in Pedasi.
Kerri is an excellent teacher in the art and science of diving. Professional and organised she showed a real capacity to attune to the student's experience. As someone who is anxious in water Kerri took me firmly and clearly through the course paying attention and giving time to the challenging tasks. I would highly recommend her as your diving instructor.

We planed to stay in Playa Venao for 3 days but we finish staying one week and it was because Surf Dojo. This people deliver more that they offer. My kid took 4 hours per day in their summer camp. Beautiful experience. Anita, Fred and Brad are the best!

We booked the Isla Canas Turtle Hatchings tour through Pedasi Tours. Hindsight I would instead book with Isla Canas Marinas. Pedasi Tours was $75/person which includes a meal. I requested a vegetarian meal, but they were not able to accomodate this request.
Isla Marina tour harges $60 for the same tour or $40 with no meal.
We were told the tour would return us to the marina at approx 11-12 p.m. We saw 1 turtle hatch and then tour was over. Back to our car around 8:30-9 pm. We were under the impression we would spend several hours looking for multiple turtles. Not just find one and go home. Talked to others who booked through the marina and they spent several hours searching and saw 3 turtles. I understand it’s all in Mother Nature’s control and you may see nothing. However, our tour saw 1 and they were done.
Email communication with Pedasi Tours was "spotty" and often slow to respond. After our tour I followed up with them about possibly going a second time. Our guide (Peace Corp Volunteer) suggested we come back 3 days later b/c he would have hatchlings for us to view. I contacted Pedasi about this after our tour, they took 2 days to respond, emailed them with more questions and never heard from them again. Unfortunate.
Looked at other Pedasi Tours and they seemed over priced. Didn't book any other tours with them. Isla Iguana tour can be booked independently by just going to the marina and splitting the cost of a $70 panga boat with 6 other people + $10 park admission. Horse back riding can be booked for $15 with the stable owner, etc. Zip line tour I booked by contacting the outfit on facebook. Do your homework folks and save some $$$$.
Check out the tours offered by Isla Canas Marina instead OR contact Tortugas Pedasi. They are a private group that tracks tours on Playa Garita in Pedasi. Free and located right in Pedasi. No hr drive to Canas.
Disappointed overall, but thankful we did see 1 turtle.

I always stop in Artemania on the central square in Pedasi, to check out the ceramics , jewelry, bags, clothing, hats --a carefully curated selection of Panamá-crafted traditional and modern styles. I never leave empty-handed, and I've been vacationing in Pedasi for 8 years! Prices are reasonable , the owner is friendly, helpful and multilingual and there is always something new and different . This time I bought cute mola -patterned wallets as gifts, and for myself ceramics from Chiriqui. A good selection of hammocks, woven hats and authentic molas, and an easy place to park your bike, car, or walk in. seems to be open 7 days a week & It's accessible when Casco Viejo in Panamá City may be hard to get to, with all the street construction. No reason to wait till you're headed to or inside Tocumen airport to get souvenirs!

We used the sports club for a trip to Isla Iguana for diving and snorkeling. The staff was great and worked well with us. Unfortaunately, the conditions didn't cooperate. Visibility was only about 10 feet and it was the strongest current I have felt. I think there is good potential, but our dive only lasted 20 minutes due to the current. The dive master was great working with my sister and her kids in tough conditions.
Ruben at the shop was very nice and gave us a discount since we only did one dive instead of 2. The The dive shop is nice but not as equipped as other places I have been. No dive computers,just depth gauges.
Another word of caution, this area has very large tidal swings. We were stuck on our surface interval waiting for the tide to come in. We also tried to snorkel and at low tide we got stuck on the coral. Be aware of the tides, it affects all water sports and trips to the beach.

The charming proprietor of MyShape, Esther Aguëro Carrasco , was educated in Switzerland and offers individual and small class training in Pilates , yoga and fitness /recovery . She is multilingual (Spanish , English, German) and focuses on each client's needs. The gym, which includes a spa, is modern and attractive ; Esther also leads weekly classes at Playa Venao and Andromeda in Pedasi . I scheduled an evaluation/ diagnosis and several one-to-one sessions at MyShape and and I want to recommend this to everyone who's spending time in Pedasi. Contact Esther on what's app or have your hotel receptionist do it. You won't regret it.

We booked one week in advance and when we arrived Travis informed us that one of the cars was broken because it had an accident the day before. He said that we had to wait for 2 hours to the next group but we did not want to wait. He fixed situation taking one of us with him and after that everything was great. Super fun ride. I highly recommend this tour.

The Jungle Eco spa offers facials, massage, bodywork. It's located at the entrance to Eco Venao lodge, in a shady spot that enhances the ambiance of the treatment rooms tastefully decorated with river stones, bamboo, and other natural materials. I had a facial and a massage and will definitely return for more body work with the certified, experienced and friendly staff. prices are reasonable. There's also a natural food shop next door. A great addition to playa Venao whether you've had too much sun salt water and sand, too many hours Surfing , etc. this will set you right .
