For $25 you get a paddle wheel boat ride to island, horse carriage ride, tour of mansion and also includes museum. Get tickets at museum in town, and walk the 2 blocks to the boat. Note to park in spaces allocated to museum only. The boat ride takes about 20 - 25 minutes and runs on the top of the hour. You can then get the carriage ride on the half hour, then do mansion tour at quarter past the hour. Finally, you can then take the boat back. The whole thing takes 3 hours, not including museum tour. Give yourself a half day and start early. At latest, take the 3:00 pm boat over to the island. The entire experience is excellent.

There are hiking trails and picnic pavilion, close to the viewing deck. There is a nice rustic playground for children. We enjoyed the view and the interpretive signs. The restrooms needed scrubbed with disinfectant. Please note that there is no GPS address, just vague directions to take the Marrtown Rd exit off Rt. 50. That would be Rt. 50 West, just a very short drive out of Parkersburg WV.

My wife and I recently toured the Blennerhassett Museum in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Coupled with Blennerhassett Island the overall history and displays are above average. For those who don't know, the Blennerhassetts were involved with the Arron Burr attempt to create his own country. For those who are interested in the Jefferson period of history, this is a can't miss opportunity. The staff is very friendly and the experience won't be soon forgotten. Taking the paddle wheel boat over the Blennerhassett Island is also fun.

This is a nice antique shop but if really doesn't offer anything you haven't seen somewhere else. It is well organized with only a couple of cluttered booth (we just pass those by). The people working at the front were very nice but the place just didn't wow us. However, we would check it out again if we were in the area.
