Enjoyed very much compared to other boat passing by where they uses a prerecorded commentary instead.

Gaasbeek Castle

Gaasbeek Castle is a unique historic house with an extensive collection that has grown organically with it. We are the permanent custodians of this piece of heritage. We present this house and its collection in a bold way as a heritage laboratory and inspiring place to meet. The castle is a ‘work in progress’: we develop systematic innovative initiatives which we share with the local heritage community and beyond. In so doing we put our visitors first: we excite, move and invite them to reflect. We work on an interdisciplinary basis and reach a collective vision of how to enhance art, heritage, nature, education and tourism. All this with attention to quality and maximum social relevance.

this is not really a castle, it's more like a palace, it looks really great from the outside, the inside it's not worth seeing: for the ticket price of 10€ you can see a bunch of rooms which look fake and temporary exibitions completely disconnected from the context. better go there and spend your time in the huge and beatiful park eround it.

Price: 60 EUR per guide (maximum 20 persons per guide) The guided visit takes about 2 hours and includes a climb to the top of the Belfry tower (136 steps), offering spectacular views on the city!

The belfry and alderman´s house are not open to the public, but are well worth to see from the outside. The belfry is smaller than in many other cities. On the square there is also borse van Amsterdam, now a restaurant, a very nice old building with a Colonnade. A bit further on the square is the currently used town hall, and the inner courtyard is a well worth a quick visit. It houses the statue of Odineke, a character from one of Boon´s novel. On the square is also the statue of Dirk Martens, the first printer in the Southern Netherlands.

Souks and sauna is a lovely place to relax. All is finished in maroccan style. Drinks and food are very good and tastefull. Price of basic drinks as water, which is crucial in a sauna, is priced low (and this is not always like that in other saunas). There are often actions as 2 persons for the price of 1 or others. I definitely will go back and recommend it.
