Sri Penushila Lakshmi Narasimha Swami Temple

Reviewed By GCNZ8 - Wellington, New Zealand

A beautiful temple located in a tranquil and pleasant valley. The main deity is Sri Penusila Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, Chenchu Lakshmi and Adi Lakshmi. The kshetra palaka is Sri Anajeneya Swamy. The dieties are swayambhu (self-incarnated). Penusila when translated means large stone, the temple was carved of a single large stone from the hill. The name Penchelakona also was a local transformation of Penusilakona to Penchalakona. There is a waterfall near the temple, but when we visited in July there wasn't much water flowing so we avoided it. The roads to the temple were decent and motor-able without much issues, we drove from Nellore.

Nellapattu Sanctuary

Reviewed By DarkAngel_AA - Mumbai, India

If you are a bird lover then this place is a must to visit. I was here for Tirumala visit and I had put up in Tirupati. Hired a cab and reached the sanctuary in 2hours. I was lucky there was not a single visitor in the sanctuary. I visited on a weekday considering it’s covid I preferred a weekday to avoid crowd. They charged me 250 rupees which is very nominal (I had a camera). There are guides available incase you need. Birds spotted Pelicans, open bill storks, Black headed ibis, Ducks. March is the time when most of the birds leave the sanctuary.. the guide informed peak times is Oct -Feb. during November we can also spot few endangered species. I spent approx 3hrs exploring the sanctuary. Looking forward for my next visit in November
