Because my wife and I toured Nashville over the last two days I decided not to pay the 27 dollar entrance fee but just did the above stated things here. I had paid enough in entrance fees the last couple of days but got a sense of what this place was all about by touring some of the building without doing the guided tour. I walked the grounds and shopped in the Gift Shop. It is certainly a grand place were big name acts plus up & coming stars play on this stage. I enjoyed it here by just doing what I did here today without costing me a dime expect the cost of a t-shirt to take home back to Canada.

I am thinking this experience is far more meaningful for fans of old-time country music which we are not. We had many friends recommend our going here, but we are thinking they must have meant for a show. The shows were sold out during our visit, but we did do the self-guided and backstage tour. Really, all this involves is doing in some dressing rooms, seeing a few video clips, hearing history from a tour guide and walking on to the stage. A huge fan might find this a really fabulous experience, but, for us, it wasn't exceptional other than to say we were on the stage at the Ryman if anyone cares. I think the highlight must be attending a show here as the rest of it was basically looking at artifacts behind glass and understanding the history of the theater. There is also an opportunity to record music which is probably fun if you have any singing talent, and you can have a professional photographer take a photo of you and your family on the stage. That's it folks. Fortunately, it wasn't a very expensive experience, and it was worth about what we paid.

Even if your not a huge country music fan, this place is well worth a look at, loads of interesting exhibits, with videos and photos. Like any museum, interesting, staff very helpful and polite. Lots of local historic information as well.

I was recently in Nashville to hear Joe Biden speak. This event took place at the lovely Schermorhorn Symphony Hall, which happened to be near our hotel. I had walked over during the daytime, in order that I could admire all of the lovely architectural features of the exterior. My understanding is that it is nowhere as old as it looks; it is quite stately and attractive. The inside is nice as well. Probably the biggest takeaway for me was the staff working the event; it must be stressful to have a dignitary with an entourage and Secret Service agents, but they were all good-natured, polite, and helpful. As you would expect in the South. The common areas are all well-kept, and the restroom was the cleanest I saw in Nashville. The interior of the Hall itself is sizeable, comfortable, and has plenty of room to get to your seat. I hope I have a chance to return there to hear music.

First made available to Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum visitors in 1977, RCA Studio B was donated to the Museum in 1992. Studio B tours are available as part of the Museum's platinum ticket package, which also includes Museum admission and audio tour, and depart from the Museum hourly between 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. daily. The passion of our tour guide Barbara was evident and the detail provided regarding who recorded there and how they recorded was excellent. The anecdotes about Elvis, Jim Reeves and many more brought the history seeping out of the walls. It was an honour to be there and very moving at times.

Nothing beats a warm winter day to hike the loop of Percy Warner Park at the end of Belle Meade Blvd. The view is spectacular at the top. Plenty of parking now at Percy Warner Golf Club which connects to the trails.

We went here on the recommendation of the Nashville Visitor's Center. My boys (7 & 9) really enjoyed the Grammy Section where they had all the interactive exhibits. Other than that they were bored (the are really active and aren't museum fans so I wasn't too surprised). I enjoyed seeing all the instruments and seeing back info.

This isn't your standard car museum - even if you're an automotive enthusiast, its unlikely you'll recognize anything here. There's a wide variety of micro and miniature cars - all fully legal (at somepoint) and produced commercially. They come mainly from post WWII Europe and are fascinating. The collection also has a wide variety of Skoda and Volga cars from behind the iron curtain as well. Located in an old bread factory, there's no ropes or cars up on mantels, you can really walk up and see the ins and outs of everything. Expect to spend a few hours here taking a lot of photos.

Belle Meade Plantation is a non-profit historic site located in Nashville, TN. Established in 1807, Belle Meade was revered as the greatest thoroughbred stud farm in the United States. It was home to Iroquois,the first American bred horse to win the Epsom Derby and the great foundation sire,Bonnie Scotland,whose descendants include Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Native Dancer, Big Brown and California Chrome. Belle Meade was owned and operated by the Harding-Jackson family for nearly a century from 1807 until 1906. Today their home is restored to its turn of the century appearance along with several original outbuildings.

Enjoyed our visit to this lovely plantation. The tour of the house was very interesting and enjoyable, conducted by a knowledgeable and friendly tour guide dressed as women would have dressed back in the 1800s. Following the tour, we wandered the grounds at leisure to view the various structures and learn more about life on the plantation. The wine tasting was fun and we ended up purchasing some bottles of wine. Overall, we spent a few hours at Belle Meade and learned quite a bit about life there many years ago. Would recommend a visit here to anyone interested in history.
