Sagawa Art Museum

As other reviewers have noted, the architecture is incredible. The interior display arrangements are state-of-the-art. But the facility surpasses the contents. Three artists only are exhibited and I assume that this place is the residual depository of their work. Some of the Silk Road water colors are good, but too many are just so- so. Same goes for the ceramics. The bronzes pieces are almost all of museum quality. Overall, an incredible place well worth visiting but maybe in need of a more demanding curator. Recommended.

I traveled in a group, and we got one native english speaker (staff) to guide us. It was fun to know almost all the facts and the explanation in english.
the most interesting part is the aquarium. There are many tanks, and they even have many special tanks for breeding and also for research.

My wife and I were on a Lakeside Driving Tour with BSC International Co. Ltd. By the time we reach Lake Biwa Bridge, the sun has set. However we managed to take some nice photos of the bridge. Thanks to the tour guide, Misako Deegan and the driver who tried very hard to deliver their best. They took us their despite having passed the agreed time of our tour by hours.

Visited the park from hotel biwako nearby. Rented an electric bike which came in handy when going through the "coastal" route. Overall it's a pleasant place overlooking the largest lake in Japan- Lake Biwa. There were some anglers and fishing enthusiasts around. Joggers abound the entire walking/Cycling paths. Majestic sea eagles were seen crying out and circling the skies. Nice and peaceful place. But overall too small.

The official website provides a calendar of plants good to see in different months. I visited in March. There were not much to see except the greenhouse and the flowers near the entrance. The garden was windy. The greenhouse is great though lotus was not in full bloom when I visited. I have seen some leaves beautiful like flowers that I have never seen before. Impressive! The restaurant provides soft ice cream of lotus flavour but I did not try. Visitors can buy a combo ticket if they intend to go to Lake Biwa Museum which is 5 minutes' walk away.
