Visited here first before heading to Eugenia Falls (you can actually hike from one to the other around 12km). Lovely hike through the woods and along the river to the water falls (would have liked to have gone further but after the very heavy rain we were forced to head back). Very scenic, and doable for young kids and elderly (my 75-year mum made it too). Recommended.

You can access Eugenia Falls from Pellisier Road. Good signage to get there. Adequate pay parking $6/day...pay by cell app, web or phone. They were patrolling the parking lot when we arrived.
An asphalt walk way leads to the falls. It is a 5 minute easy walk and handicapped accessible to the first view point.
All along the cliff edge there is a stone wall for safety...it may hinder a wheel chair view though not sure.
We walked to the second view area which was muddy from recent rains but it was worth it. Although there is not a lot of water going through this falls due to the hydro electric power station diverting it away. The hike down to the bottom is pretty sketchy so we didn't try it. Apparently if you go East, in the direction of the falls, you can walk out onto the top of the falls. We didn't know that until after we left though. :( But maybe that's not something they promote anyway.
Enjoy the Conservation Area while here. If you bring a lunch you can have it on a picnic table under the pavilion. Visit the memorial statue of Lt. John Oliver Allison. And check out their trail system as well as the Bruce trail. You can bring dogs on leash only.
There are a couple of port-a-pottys in the parking area. And this park is not open in the winter.

Had the most delicious sammiches here ! We asked for everything on them, and they were loaded with fresh yummy veg and condiments. Nice supply of local wares on offer as well, honey, fruits etc. Interesting collection of other things to pick up ( hand creams, baby onesies , crafts ) Really a neat spot!

This waterfall can be accessed by going to the hotel. Park and you'll hear the water. You can view it from above or you can take the walking path to go below. If you want to go below, start the trail and you will turn right not long after. Where you turn is very thin and can probably be easily missed. It can be muddy and steep, so don't wear sandals like i did. You can get close enough that you can feel the water spraying on your face. Just be careful!
If you're not in the town, it is a bit out of the way, so just keep that in mind.

We have only been to Collingwood area in the summer a couple of times and looking for activities outside the base of Blue. I stumbled on free spirit tours and it turned out to be a great adventure. We did two tours with them. Kayaking on the Beaver river and rock climbing at Metcalfe rock over 2 mornings.
Kayaking was fantastic. A easy 2 hour paddle ideal for all ages. There is a gentle current and clear water. Very peaceful and beautiful trip down a winding river. We did the unguided tour and were fine. Basically we just got rental and shuttle to the access point. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Couple of days later we went rock climbing with Tim at Metcalfe rock. This was our first time climbing outdoors. Very different than the indoor gyms. But, it was a great experience. The climbs were easy enough that my 7 year old daughter was able to finish a couple of them. But we're still challenging for adults.
Metcalfe rock is a hidden gem. Tim took us on a short hike to explore the Metcalfe crevice. It was amazing and we will have to come back again to go caving.
We had a great couple of days with free spirit. Didn't even know that these adventures existed so close to home. Highly recommended

There is parking, large lot free to use. It has a bridge for walking across to the other side and to get into the conservation park.. Water is clean, and people cool off in it. Nice place to take your dog to swim.

A beautiful wine tasting room built from a refurbished barn which was originally located in Vaughan, Ontario. It is a very attractive place to sit, sip wine and nibble on a charcuterie/cheese plate. An outdoor patio offers views of Georgian Bay. Staff are very knowledgeable of their wines.

They show strictly contemporary art in this gallery. Although not my normal style, the paintings they had on display when I went in were rather good. The Gallery is clean and well presented and the owner was very nice.

We are only in the region for a couple of days, so were driving around the countryside. Noting the Orchard and Cidery we pulled into the driveway, only to find they are only open Thursday through Sunday.
Nice area and it's a fair distance from town, so check they are open before driving out here.

Durham is so relaxing and beautiful. It's friendly staff helps you along your journey but are not a bother to you, just there when you need them. There are many sites and some in the seclusion of woods. A short walk to the McGowen Falls where you can rest on the rocks, sit in the falls or go for a hike through the woods ending up in the town where you can do some swimming or grab an ice cream at the end of the bridge. They have events all summer and a volleyball court, basketball court and even horseshoe pits. Durham is located in Grey Bruce County which has an excellent waterfall tour you can travel on your own and enjoy. The conservation area is very well maintained so if you go, please help keep it that way. :) Great place to camp for couples and/or families.
