Lovely combination of indoor and outdoor displays highlighting the lifestyle of the indigenous people. Gardens are full of local plants and trees and the guide spent a lot of time explaining their uses as well as the current ecological concerns.
Easy to access with good walkways, lots of shady areas and interesting and comfortable animal-shaped benches to rest and ponder the plants.
Good but expensive snack bar on site.

Fort San Jose stands just upriver from the northern passage across the delta into the Amazon. Local guides claim that it is the largest in South America. For various reasons the Portuguese never finished building out the original design. During its long history never fired a shot at a foreign enemy. The buildings, walls and grounds are very well preserved and maintained. Of most interest is a room just off the main entry passage that contains pictures, reproductions of the original plans, and several different scale models of the fort that give a good sense of its layout. Most of the interior rooms open to the public contain little that might give a clue to their use, nor are there any descriptive wall plaques (in any language) or other aids. This is a problem throughout the whole museum. I am not sure if there are tour guides at the museum (or audio tours) because we saw this as part of an outside tour. There are some old cannon (without carriages) on top of the walls, but again no material to give any insight into understanding the context and politics surrounding the fort.

There's not really much to see here. It's just an obelisk and marked line on the ground(which you can see in the photo). It's in the middle of nowhere, close to the sambadrome, with just some roads and large dirt car parks around it.
That said, its pretty cool to know that you're standing in both the northern & southern hemisphere's at the same time!

Pretty church outside, but it was closed during all the time I've been there. Couldn't see inside :-(

While almost negligible, they have bettered in structure and agenda. Still, the public /is/ eager for more, and not attending that is really a disservice.

This Mall has only one floor, has only a few options to buy from.
The food court has a few good options to eat at.
The biggest issue is that except for stores like Lojas Americas, Renner, Riachuelo, C&A and Mariza the prices are high, due to over taxing from the Mall administration, what makes this mall not very attractive for a visit with purchase as objective.

The stadium has absolutely nothing interesting to see. Only a place that hosts a few events once a while and that where people jogging around.
