A holy place for every Buddhist, Lumbini and the ancient ruins are associated with the birthplace of Buddha.

This is the birthplace of Gautama Buddha. To get there, there are the tuk tuks and/or boat to take you to the entrance area. Many sites to see including the eternal flame, Baby Buddha statue, Ashoka column, building with baby Buddha's 7 steps in all direction, and the tree where he was born. Named for the mother, this is one of the four main sites for Buddhist pilgrims. A must see.

Krishna at Alpine Exodus set up a 2N/3D tour from Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park. He made it a point to listen to exactly what we wanted and the tour went off without a hitch. Our hotel had great food, our guide spoke good english, and the transportation was as comfortable as you can expect in Nepal. On the tour we did a jeep ride through the national park to see the rhinos (March is best time to visit), took a boat ride down the river with the crocks, attended a Tharu local dance show, and walked the river bank for sunset. Also, we went to the Chitwan elephant breading center which was a hard for us to see. I'd recommend looking for a elephant sanctuary in Thailand if you want to have a good experience with the elephants. Overall, Krishna and Alpine Exodus did a great job of setting up our tour...we would definitely use them again.

One of the best monastery to visit. Really huge and colorful. Repairs were being done when we visit, though no doubt it will look great once done. We hired driver Yadav (98194 84832 / 98194 80552) who took us around. Really important to get a good driver since most of them try to cheat the tourist by overcharging and bad behaviour
