Conjunto Arqueologico de Castulo

Reviewed By Antxiara - California

We arrive by car to Castulo and were totally excited to see this place we heard so much about. We knew that maybe the mosaic was closed to the public but we heard there were other things to see. We arrive and there are two men sitting in the museum and we go ask them questions. Wow, could they give us less information?! We were there during business hours and excited to see this place, we were with Spaniards from the area, and they were like just go over there on that hill that's the only thing that is open to the public. So we climbed the hill saw the view of olive groves and that was that.

I wouldn't visit Linares for this, buti f you're there anyway, it is nice to take a stroll down this palmtree-lined rambla. There are lots of shops, cafés and restaurants on either side. El Buen Sabor is particularly recommendable

Archaeological Museum of Linares

The Museum has many interesting items displayed and a system of cardboards No. 1-6 in 3 or 4 languages who takes you through the 6 different areas in this 17th Century Palace.
But it needs explanations in other languages than Spanish by each item exhibited. The two friendly ladies only spoke to us in Spanish by arrival and at the Exit.
Would have been fantastic if one of them, who followed us as a shadow and in silence all the time anyway, had explained things to us as we were the only 2 guests in the Museum for more than an hour.
The Museum has some tricky opening hours.

Fundacion Centro de Documentacion Musical Casa Museo Andres Segovia
