Loved the resort, the runs and the people we met and were so lucky that we had great snow. We were there end Jan/early Feb and it was very very rare to queue for a lift - bliss! Runs catered for all abilities from gentle crusing blues to some blacks with lots of moguls. Easy to get across to Morzine and no probs if you wanted to access wider Portes de Soleil. A couple of our group did (hard skiers!) but rest of us found plenty to occupy us on the LG & Morzine pass. Easy to upgrade for the day if you wanted it and ski pass office really helpful. We had couple of private lessons with LGS and they were fab. Only thing I’d change - the price of food on the Mountains but this is France!

My son was on his first week of snowboarding lessons. Mixed in with other children the same age, they had an amazing week with Tammy. Tammy made them all feel comfortable, made them laugh, showed them how to snowboard, had some great animal facts and quiz. Thank you we will be booking again.

Le Lac de Montriond

Wow what a glorious place!! We walked from Morzine & were so lucky all week with beautiful weather; the views did not disappoint. Unfortunately we were a little early in the season for kayak & SUP hire but we were happy with a swim & a sunbathe. There is a 'kiddy pool' so to speak which is separate from the main lake. Watch your feet going into the water; it's a bit rocky.
The walk around the lake doesn't take long; oh wow it was just beautiful. It needs to be on your list for a visit if you are even vaguely nearby the area!

Our selection of activities provide all you need from complete beginner to mountain adventurer.

I have used Evolution 2 for both group and private lessons for the last 4 years. I had used other providers in Avoriaz but none compare to the excellent service by the admin team and the experience and knowledge from the instructors. Their English is superb and all have a really good sense of humour which makes the lesson flyby. This year due to high winds the resort was closed for one day but our lessons were soon rescheduled for the following day with no fuss and just one phone call. I can’t recommend the instructors highly enough, their ability to be able to foresee your “loss of control” and put themselves in a position to catch, stop or help you is a true art!! Some of my family have been very young children, the instructors are all fantastic in encouraging young children and helping them gain confidence quickly. Would never consider using any other provider!!

After years of visiting various ski schools and private lessons in lots of locations we found BASS. They offer the best ski lesson experience I've ever had. Having completed their ski school classes, small groups with days off in between lessons so that you can practice (brilliant idea) I started to take private lessons. I had years of bad habits, poor confidence and a plethora of badly taught techniques that I was mashing together and not really understanding or executing very well. My lessons with Mark , thanks for your patience, have unpicked my bad habits, greatly increased my technique and my confidence is restored. Super lesson plans that were tailored to my needs had me finally conquer the dreaded red run. Well worth ever penny I just wished that I'd found them years ago. If you are a beginner start with BASS you'll save yourself a fortune and will learn to ski properly, safely and most importantly you'll have loads of fun.

Musee de la Musique Mecanique

Reviewed By Alastair J - Ngaparou, Senegal

This is quite a large and comprehensive museum of the art and history of Mechanical Musical Instruments. Most are in working order, which is well demonstrated during the hour-long guided tour.
I enjoyed it.
I would complain, though, that the welcome from the ladies at reception - as we paid out our €9.00 per head - was poor and smile-free. Worse than that, we enquired how long we would have to wait for the guided tour to start and were told 10 minutes. In reality we had to wait 40 minutes before they deemed there were enough clients to start a tour. Other clients too were muttering about this, so when I complained out loud to our tour guide about being misinformed about the waiting time, I was irritated to get no reaction other than a shrug !!

ESF Avoriaz 1800

Reviewed By Gill_loui171

I was a beginner skier and went for a week of skiing in Morzine. I decided to do the week of morning lessons with ESF and they were brilliant value for money, incredibly well organised, and the instructors were incredibly capable and helpful.
I paid 290 euros for 5 x morning lessons and this included a lift pass for the whole of Morzine/Les Gets. This means each lesson cost 30-40 euros each which is fantastic value for money. On the last day the instructors took us to a stop for wine and cheese, before giving us our certificates. I highly recommend using ESF!

Brilliant day out at Les Gets once again. Been a few times now in all conditions from rain to mud to hot Sunshine. Fantastic experience with lots of different trails of varying difficulty. There is something for everyone with trails ranging from Green graded difficulty to Red and Black for the more experienced rider. I would never really recommend alpine biking to those whom have never done any mountain biking closer to home. However the town offers great bike hire opportunities with locals with excellent knowledge of the trails.
Great bit of scenery also.

La Bourgeoise is an easy, signposted walk from the Col de Joux Plane. The views over the valley and towards Mont Blanc are superb and it's fun to watch the parapenters running off the edge.
