We enjoyed an afternoon coffee with the view of this theatre at Venizelou pedestrian walkway looking at the theatre. It is located at the southern foothills of the hill "Fortress"(Frourio), where the ancient city's fortified Acropolis stood. Its really close at the market so you can come here right after your shopping. At night its beatifull if you like to chat with your pals sitting on the stone benches at the upper side of it.But if you want more crouded situations gazing and meet people,50 metres away,at the upper side of the hill are the ancient ruins square which is more crouded but only at summer days,as it is the coolest part of the city. Tip: dont miss the dinner at the locals taverns on the hill "Frourio".

It's an amazing remainder of the splendor of the ancient Greece! Only a quarter of the theater is uncovered, the rest is still under the neighboring buildings. The size and the enormous effort required to build it are impressive.
