Six Flags Safari

Adjacent to Six Flags Great Adventure, this park features 350 acres that are filled with more than 1,200 animals from six continents.

We got to Great Adventure super early and were waiting in line for the park to open. The minute they opened the gates, we jetted off to the Safari ride. We wanted to be the first ones to get on the ride because the wait will become terrible later and they sometimes close early. It was the best decision as we were on the second truck and got the best seats, at the front. We got an awesome guide named Alex who has a deep voice that's just dreamy and sounds like he should voiceover those nature shows. His sense of humor throughout the ride was wonderful and made it so enjoyable. The animals were amazing, and I got to see so many up close! Sitting on the left side was best because a lot of animals seem to be on that side. The animals looked close enough to touch - rhinos, giraffes, elephants, ostriches, and much more. We didn't get to feed the giraffes but we didn't really mind. Loved it!

Have been going here for over 30 years. It is such a wonderful place/experience. The animals truly seem happy and it's so fun feeding some of them the popcorn. Where else could you see lions, tigers and bears in such a wonderful setting!!

My go to place for solo runs that clear the mind. Wide soft trails -5 miles plus a little - in a serene-quite environment around a beautiful water reservoir. You get true nature connection and the trails are covered by tress, nice shade during the summer.

What a wonderful experience! We took our 5 and 2 year old girls, who had a blast! Arrive early so that you can enjoy the free kid tatoos and check out the area. The children are separated from the adults on the boat and engaged in an adventure then entire trip. The adults were able to sit back and relax for an hour, it was wonderful!! I would HIGHLY recommend taking the last trip for the day... so you can also enjoy the sunset :) And don't forget to wear your Pirate Gear!!

Tyler, the group salesperson was a great help in planning our family event. We had 13 people - 9 adults and 4 kids. Tyler arranged for our name to be on the big screen when they welcomed groups. It made us feel very special! The park is clean, and the concessions are good. Lines weren't too long. The bouncy house area was a great activity for the little kids who couldn't sit through the whole game.

Great museum on Blimps, the Hindenburg, and militaria. You can actually go into the replica Hindenburg gondola used for the movie. Several rooms of militaria, models, uniforms and history. Staff are fairly knowledgeable and willing to discuss the history of the items in the museum. Very enjoyable especially for military history buffs,,,,,

We also have over 70 hitting bays, including 9 climate-controlled booths as well as a state-of-the-art indoor golf simulator for year round practice!

This is an OK place to play a round of mini golf like we did on summer vacation. It wasn’t too crowded and our group of four enjoyed the course and obstacles. It was a little strange, though, that the elderly man working there was often watching patrons like us while he smoked. For a good price we had fun here for a while.

This was a great find for us. As a Chef wannabe I try to use the best and freshest ingredients I can find. Anvil Farms is tucked away near Bamber Lake NJ. Its a small Mom and Pop operation but they have a nice selection of vegetables and some fruit. Its all seasonal so don't expect to find lettuce in the summer, or blueberries, but they are in the spring. Summer brings great corn and maters. We go every week. And their prices are incredible. You wont find them in any farmers market because they are busy 14hrs a day growing, picking and selling. Another great thing is they use old fashioned ways to control pests such as crop rotation, etc. and use minimal pesticide if any.
Its also a great experience for the kids to shop from the farm.

Jakes Branch County Park

Reviewed By gostartraveler - Forked River, New Jersey

A bit out of the way but that's good because the playground - which has two areas depending on age level - was not crowded. Adequate parking, and there's a series of trails that wind across the park. They have a nature center which has exhibits related to the Pinelands. There's an observation deck too, but be warned: when we went there was a sign saying that wasps frequent the deck (so back to the elevator we went.) Bathrooms accessible from outside next to nature center. Fields also for various sports.
