Bodegas Tritium

Tritium winery is a XV century old winery recovered by Francisco and Javier, both friends and the 4th generation of wine makers in their families. Their wines come from the amazing old vineyards their grand parents planted 100 years ago. They believe in Terroir and their wines are exactly the expression of their ancient knowledge.

An awesome place to enjoy birds of prey hosted with friendly profesionals.
During the flying demonstration with various birds the audience participation is great with lots of kids getting involved as well as adults. To have the oppportunity to hold the birds up close is an awesome and an unforgetable experience
Though small the centre is very well set up with helpful staff who obviously love the birds. Lots of talks and flying of birds-an excellent place. Also has a small cafe and a playground.
A great day out which we will be doing again and again and again. The place is absolutely worth!!!

Promptly upon our arrival, which had been arranged by our hotel in Abalos, we were greeted by Leire, who took us on a wonderful guided tour. She explained in great detail their winemaking process and the distinctive elements of Bohedal's wines, easily fielding our questions and happily welcoming all inquiries. At the conclusion of the tour, we had a chance to sit with Leire and try several of the wines, all of which we enjoyed very much. She was also a delight in telling us more about the Rioja region, her family's winemaking history, her trips to promote Bohedal's wines, and her efforts to make their wines available in more markets abroad. We would highly recommend visiting Bohedal to any visitors, including those like us who know very little Spanish and require a guide with fluency in English. All in all, it was a warm, welcoming experience, as well as highly informative. We'd go back again, for sure!

Bodega La Rioja Alta S.A.

In 1890, La Rioja Alta SA was founded by five families sharing a common passion for wine. It was the start of an ongoing quest for excellence that their descendants still pursue. Since then we have managed to extract the best from the marriage of our tradition in wine ageing, to state-of-the-art technology in grape fermentation. Our wines (Viña Ardanza, Gran Reserva 904, etc.) have become an international reference for the finest Rioja wines.

Bodegas Lecea

Best Wine Experience of Spain 2016. Bodegas Lecea is a trip to the origins of Rioja wine through a tour of the old neighborhoud of Bodegas from San Asensio. In this neighborhood there are more than 350 family wineries dug in the rock in the sixteenth century, all with families production in the past and abandoned today. Bodegas Lecea is the only one that still conserves four caves connected as wine cellars and in operation, with a labyrinthine route of more than 300 meters underground. Lecea Winery still produces and ferments their wines in a constant temperature in concrete vats. The same way that their ancestors worked in the sixteenth century. The winery preserves the old traditions of elaboration like the treading of the grape and pressed in the hand press for the elaboration of its more special wine "Heart of Lake" or "Corazon de Lago", a wine made with carbonic maceration, like those that people drunk before the mechanization of the wineries. The guided tour lasts approximately one hour and is conducted in groups with a specialized guide. During the tour old work tools are shown as goat skin to transport wine, pitcher and wooden tubs. It is also a final video to underestand better the artisian process of Corazon de Lago. A visit to travel trought the time, for the diffusion of the ancestral traditions of La Rioja, for the recovery of the roots and the total comprehension of winemaking precess from the XVI century until our days. A journey back in time to our best origins. (The Reservations must be made by phone through our website. The temperature of the underground cellar is 13º all year round, so a jacket is necessary even in summer.) We are waiting for you in our family winery, Bodegas Lecea!

Marques de Murrieta

Marques de Murrieta is an older than 160 years-old winery where the deep respect for the history and the tradition finds a perfect balance with the focus on the future. Its origin dates from 1852 when Luciano Murrieta y Garcia -Lemoine produces the first fine wine from Rioja and is the first one to export it. He acquires the Ygay Estate and builds his emblematic Ygay Castle. In 1983 Vicente Cebrian Sagarriga, tenth Count of Creixell, takes over the project and after his death in 1996, his children, who are currently responsible of such an ambitious and endearing family business that they strengthen day after day with its presence in the different continents. The uniqueness and quality of the Marques de Murrieta wines is determined, to a great extent, by the singular caracter of the Ygay Estate, 300 hectares of own vineyards located around the winery, which allow the absolute control of the raw material. Located in the south of Rioja Alta, it enjoys a privileged continental climate tempered in the north by the Sierra de Cantabria Mountains. The grape varieties cultivated are five reds (tempranillo, garnacha, mazuelo, graciano and cabernet sauvignon) and the white viura.

They serve typical Riojan bocadillos and other food in the bar. There is also a restaurant on site. The museum offers a great perspective on wine.
