The name of the city means "red" or "crimson" in Tuvan (as well as in many other Turkic languages). Population: 109,918 (2010 Census); 104,105 (2002 Census); 84,641 (1989 Census).

The museum (official name is National museum of Tuva Republic of Aldan-Maadyr) has an interesting mix of different things to see. From religious and shamanists paraphernalia, through a selection of stuffed animals of the region to parts dedicated to the WWII, there's a little bit of everything. However the crown jewel of this collection is a room with Scythian gold that was excavated from one of the burial mounds. It's beautiful and the presentation is great. You can only see it through an hour-long guided tour, the Russian one is always available and during our visit a group next to us had an English speaking guide. I believe you should notify the museum in advance and they can arrange an English speaking tour.

This is the newest reincarnation of a monument that has been standing at this place since 1964 and has been changed three times. There's the obelisk as well as a Fountain with cute statues representing signs of Chinese zodiac. The park surrounding it is neat and clean and there's tourist information office nearby. One of the things to see when in Tuva.

Even Kyzyl people comes to have a dinner here! You order the first dishes when you leave Kyzyl city and you can have it when arriving. If you are too full to have more dishes, take a walk around the complex which has a great view.

Many of the different sculptures around Russian cities tend to lean towards kitch. This one is a beautiful exception, executed by someone with clear artistic vision. It's beautiful and very pleasant to look at. It can be found in the same park as the Center of Asia obelisk.

Auf dem Denkmal zu Ehren der ersten russischen Lehrerin spielen bei gutem Wetter Kinder. Nachts ist das Denkmal unbeleuchtet und von der Straße nicht zu erkennen.
Obwohl die bei TripAdvisor hinterlegte Adresse nicht mit dem Standort identisch ist, sind Denkmal und Kirche trotzdem zu finden.
Die Kirche ist übrigens im Dunkeln beleuchtet, allerdings nur tags im Inneren zugänglich.

On the last night of our stay, we attended a concert that was a benefit for Kongar-ool Ondar---a world renowned Throatsinger, and much beloved by Tuvans. He had passed away the previous year, and a statue honoring him was going to be made. Money from this concert would help pay for it.
There had been a Throatsinging competition several days previously, and the winners were awarded prizes, and then sang and played instruments for the audience. Different levels, group and solo singers, shared their gifts with us. One in particular, was a young boy, perhaps 5 yrs old, who soloed with an instrument! The crowd was ecstatic! What a treat to have this experience as a final night in Kyzyl !!!

Стадион носит название национальный тывинской борьбы - Хуреш. Здесь как раз проводят соревнования исключительно по этой борьбе. Зрелище специфичное, местным нравится, но вообще довольно монотонно и длятся соревнования почти весь день. Находится стадион в парке культуры и отдыха имени Гастелло. Стадион открытого типа, удобств по минимуму, так что если соберетесь сюда запасайтесь водой, едой, возьмите головной убор

Kadarchy is not specially a piece of art, but situated on a very good, peaceful spot, near two Boeddhisme sites.

В парке, где установлен «Центр Азии», если пройти влево по направлению вверх по Енисею, прямо у входа в новое здание, в котором планируется в скором времени открыть модный ресторан, установлена скульптурная композиция «Мой дом», состоящая из двух отдельно расположенных фигур, вырезанных из мрамора: улыбающийся мальчик-пастушок и сидящий навьюченный верблюд. Вот «мой дом» и навьючен на верблюда, так все вместе и странствуют по степям – пустыням: люди, животные, и с ними всегда их дом. Автор – киргизский скульптор Ибрагим Жусупов, подарил свою композицию Кызылу. Вид и улыбающегося мальчика, и верблюда с симпатичной мордой настолько мил, что невольно расплываешься в улыбке, смотря на них. Очень позитивная композиция.

Как-то была в трехнедельной командировке в Кызыле и на выходных решили сходить в кино. Выбор фильмов в принципе был актуальный (это единственный +). Дело было зимой, гардероба в кинотеатре не было, но это и к лучшему - в зале и в одежде было не жарко. Самые яркие впечатления остались от туалета - у кабинок не было дверей, а основная дверь также не закрывалась.
