Baneheia is part of the city forrest, the park contains three ponds, the one called "tredje stampe" is nice for swimming. That pond has a few places where it is very nice to swim from. The park has several pathways that make it easy to move around in the park. In the wintertime there are prepared crosscountry skiing tracks around in the park.

The walk into the park is by these tall cliffs. You feel like you are walking into a secret garden. There is a restaurant with tables outside that overlook the pond. We had a great meal here, and reasonable by Norway standards. We were there June 1, and most flowers were in bloom, so it was an explosion of color. There are paths around the water, and other trails.

Just across a small bridge bear the harbour of Kristiansand you find peaceful and scenic walking areas with a historic toutch as well. Odderøya used to be a fortress and military area up to rescently. The view is amazing

This is a great place for kids up to teen-age, and even further. There is a Zoo With both local and exotic animals, and a lot of Things to do for the kids. They have focused on the books of the Norwegian author Torbjørn Egner and some of his books for kids and the caracters from the books. We brougt kids at 4-6 ys old, and they were most interested in the area where they could Climb the "Julius Jungel-løype", and could have stayed there all day. The pirat ship and the Egner-adventures are also great for the kids, and this is mainly a park for kids! As an adult I find it very pricy, from the cost to enter the park to bying food at the premises. They say "everything" is free as soon as you enter, but there are a lot of extras the kids will want, from food to pictures offered from various attractions. But all in all, we will be back as long as kids want to, this is one of the pest Parks in Norway!

Built just a few years ago, this has become one of the main attractions in this part of Norway. A swimming pool, gym and spa, and ideal combination. The staff is International and excellent. In the pool you will find a 50 meter long pool for competitions. There are a few warm water pools inside, and one outside. If you are a frequent user, you are best served with an annual Subscription.

This church is a little different from other churches in the area. It looked kind of cold and hard on the outside being built with brick and concrete in Neo-Gothic style. Once inside the atmosphere felt warmer with wood ceiling and columns all around. Nice to sit and enjoy a quiet moment after walking around town.

Very nice, interesting and informative. Been there with my parents and grandparents. We walked along the amunation train tracks and saw many hidden bunkers.
Eveything in the main bunker (Entrance) is like the germans left yesterday... We been in another big bunker aswell with torch lights which looked like yesterday they left. It was very nice to see, very untouched.
Only disappointing thing was the toilets, you use the old bunker original toilets from the soldiers which were mens.
So when you sit as woman there and men visitors come in, it's unpleasant.

With not much else to do and if you are on a cruise this park and its water feature is a short 20 minute walk from your cruise ship dock. It is quiet and peaceful but there is not much more here. Sit a little bit and move on.

I visited here as part of a cruise ship excursion. Although I enjoyed my visit, it wasn't what I expected. On our short guided tour, our guide was good at explaining what life was like and why the houses were made the way they were. We were also given free time to look around and go in some of the buildings that were unlocked. There weren't any costumed interpreters in the buildings(like some places have), so the only people you can ask questions of are the women who give the tours.
