cated 16 km away from Kozhikode in the south India state of Kerala, the beautiful place called Kappad beach was discovered by the Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama during 15thcentury. It is nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city, making it an ideal beach holiday destination for relaxation. Dotted with fascinating formation of rocks on all its sides, the beach landscape includes several coconut groves and long stretches of silvery sands drenched by lathered surf that soothingly rolls up and down the shores.

Beypore Beach

Reviewed By P J - Bengaluru, India

Beypore is not meant to be touristy place in reality. It is a port and have long history for centuries which makes it really interesting.
It has nice beach due to the breakwater, but expect crowd since it is the major port in North Kerala for both commerce and fishing community. There are hundreds of fishing vessels around all time. While entering the port the road splits into three. One to the beach side and breakwater where most tourist go, one to the Beypore port, another to Beypore fishing harbour. While there is no restriction on going towards beach, to enter the port you may need to pay a small entry fee and security restrictions apply. Beypore port will have passenger ships and cargo ships along with traditional sail vessels and Wooden vessels(urus). If interested in fishing activity, one can go the fishing harbour and see the fishermen in work.
Towards the beach the north break water is there which is around 1km long into the sea. Its nice to walk and get closer with sea. But yea expect all sorts of crowd and parking may be difficult in evenings and weekends. The stretch of beach is calm and family friendly to play with.
Between Beypore beach and Beypore port, there is Bank to Bank shipping service. You can get to the south side of the river through the service and even take your vehicle.

This street has been relaid with nice flooring tiles like high street in UK with no road vehicles not being allowed and you are free to walk. The shops are extending in the cross cut streets also. it is quiet a big area. All items are available here including textiles, readymade dress for men, women and children, many foot wear shops, sweet shops, watch&clock shops, kitchen utilities and crockeries, juice stalls, a few restaurants etc..
