Phang Nga Elephant Park

The best establishment in Southern Thailand to experience our national animal - THE ELEPHANT. Close-by to Phang Nga & Khao Lak, bordering a leafy national park - we are dedicated to providing our elephants with the highest quality-of-life. We are against unnatural practices such as elephant dancing and circus tricks, and strive constantly to educate and improve animal welfare.

Visited the park with my wife this morning and she was so excited she couldn't sleep. It lived up to our expectations and more. The trip from Khao Lak was about 45 mins. We were greeted by a very friendly English guide called Duane. After a quick safety chat we were off to see our elephants. There were only 7 guests this morning and each couple or family had an elephant to care for (under supervision of their real mahouts). The elephants are well looked after and loved. After walking up a hill (you could ride the elephant bareback but we chose not to) you got to prepare a basket of yummy treats for your elephant and then feed them. After this you get to ride or walk with your elephant back down the hill ready to give them a bath. Here's the best bit....you get in with them. You wash your elephant and get to spend time in the pool until they decide they have had enough. Ours rolled on her side loving it and another fell asleep.
After this we got to shower off and then have a really tasty lunch. The final part of the experience is to get to see the baby elephants, from a safe distance.
All in all, a truly fabulous experience...thank you.

Mina's Cooking Classes

Reviewed By KevinGBucksEngland - Bucks England

We spotted Mina's cooking class on Tripadvisor and booked direct with Mina who also arranged the return taxi trip from our hotel.
Our group was two other British couples, Mina's English is excellent so no language issues.
We are not expert chefs by any means, however Mina explains and demonstrates everything and it is a hands on class. Prior to the class we had been asked if we had any preferences and this was taken into account. We had confirmed happy to go with the flow and that was a good decision.
The fresh ingredients and quality were superb, the end results were excellent, the company was first rate and Mina is a person to love.
Overall one of the highlights of many holidays we've had and one to recommend without hesitation.

Tree Top Adventure Park Krabi

On beautiful trees with breathtaking views, experience sensations never felt before. From one platform to another, from tree to tree, balance yourself through an assortment of games such as bicycle in the trees (unique in Asia), rope Bridges, tarzan swings, flying skateboard, and giant zip lines. Just a new silly experience in Thailand!

Reviewed By BelindaB423 - Melbourne, Australia

This is an absolute must activity! We have been to several treetop parks and this one is the best. They start you with a training session so that you feel confident using the clips and pulley. You are then led through 4 courses starting with simple to hard. There were several kids on our tour (aged 8-10) and they managed to complete them all. The flying bicycle, broomstick and surfboard were so much fun.
The guides were with us the whole way and were such great help and always made you feel confident. The final zip lines on the Black Course are the best. It's about 10m high and long. I didn't want it to end. The red course you have to climb up the rock face using grip handles. So challenging but worth the zip line at the top.
My tip is to take a spare change of t-shirt and things for after the courses as you will sweat like anything, wear runners and tip your guides.

Phang Nga Bay

Phang Nga is famous for spectacular scenery with limestone cliffs rising out of green water. There are caves, lagoons and tiny secluded Beaches awaiting discovery.

This was a beautiful tour through caves and into multiple scenic bays and coves. The locals that paddle you through are very informational and will take you where ever you want to go. Definitely recommend it. Only wish I could rate the tour company. I could not find them on this site.

Wow Andaman

Reviewed By MrsGiroud - London, United Kingdom

Wow provided a nice breakfast at the pier, cold drinks on the boat, snorkelling gear and towels
We were lucky to be one of the first boats to reach the Islands and were able to enjoy the peaceful and relaxing surroundings on the beach… with the whitest sand and bluest sea I’ve ever seen. Our tour guide, Arty had told us that we were going to be early there, early lunch etc to miss the big crowds, and he was right! As we saw soon after the many many boats of Chinese tourists that turned up
The one complaint I’d have was there was a young guy with the tour company recording a film and taking photos which they tried to sell at the end. At times he was too much “in our face” and I’m sure other people on the boat wouldn’t have wanted footage of my husband and me in their video. Otherwise, this was a great trip!

20 minutes drive north of Phuket airport. You will find a secret hideout; a 20 km long secluded Natai beach. There're lots of local restaurants to explore. Several boutique hotels and a Michelin star restaurant situated along the beach. It's a perfect place to relax and enjoy the nature and local culture.

Really beautiful temple with a spectacular view. If you have bare legs, get a pair of thai pants and go into the temple. Very beautiful, lots of small carved figures. Enjoy the silence. One of the better places to visit.

Island Yoga

Island Yoga is a yoga retreat centre on peaceful Koh Yao Noi in Phangna Bay in Southern Thailand. We offer yoga retreats lasting anywhere from 4 days to several weeks, starting at any time during the season with our unique 'rolling retreats' concept. Island Yoga teachers provide classes based on Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin yoga for Asana (physical poses), Pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation. Weekly workshops are also available as well as drop in yoga during peak season. We also use the outdoors as an environment in which to expand our the spiritual experience with rock climbing, kayaking and other outdoor activity trips on a weekly basis. Island Yoga is the perfect escape from the more touristy, busy parts of Thailand.

Booked this as a final stop on a 6 week SE Asia tour. Booking and pre arrival queries all dealt with promptly and correctly.
The accommodation and restaurant were great. Comfy beds with only 3 beds in my female dorm. Quiet and respectful people to share meals, yoga and trips out with. Yummy brunch and evening meals can be purchased here or next door or indeed down the road. Ning and Sin who run the accommodation side were just great hosts.Thank you.
Yoga
Some teachers seemed better than others in explaining postures( not shapes as one teacher called them) ( in my 25 years of yoga I have gained some experience) and there was a choice of beginner or intermediate at each session. I felt that some postures were not for beginners and adjusted my practice to what suited me anyway. It would be nice to have a list of who is teaching at each shala so that if one had a preference one could choose.
The new shala - whilst it looks OK - did appear to be soulless and indeed it was impossible to hear the teacher in the one class I took there. In addition I did not like the concrete floor and would be wary of using this shala on a long term basis.
Didn't like the way many men were shirtless during practice.
Overall a good visit - glad I was experienced enough to take care of myself.

Wat Suwan Kuha (Cave Temple)

Reviewed By Kenny C

I love travelling to see temples, but this one was a disappointment. It's not well kept. The front cave holds most of the artifacts and statues. There is nothing in the back cave, although in the entrance to that cave you will find where past King and Queens have left their royal monogram in the stone. Most of the monkeys are well fed to the point they refuse the abundance puff bananas and nuts coming at them.
