Rani Lakshmi Bai Par

Reviewed By WanderingSAM555 - Bareilly, India

Its full name is Veerangna Maharani Laxmibai Park. Very few parks are properly maintained by municipal corporations. Luckily this is one such park that has been maintained by Jhansi Nagar Nigam in a proper manner. There are 3-4 gates to this large park. There is ample space for children to play along with the proper playground equipment. There is a jogging track, a Fountain and a large statue of Maharani Laxmibai dominates the central area of the park. Her immortal words are written there ‘Apni Jhansi Nahi Doongi’ evoking patriotic feelings in all those who are still sensitive to the idea of nationality and patriotism. For others it is a good park for keeping oneself healthy or to spend good time in the company of LOVED ones.

The marriage of Maharaja Gangadhar Rao with Laxmi Bai (later the Queen of Jhansi) was solemnized at this sacred Ganesh Mandir (Temple). It is in the heart of the Jhansi city near a place called Panchkuian. The two storied structure is under renovation these days. Although it is in a narrow lane but well known to the local people and it could be easily reached by an auto ie. a three wheeler.

Maharaja Gangadhar Rao ki Chatri

Reviewed By Sonie S - San Jose, California

This chatri attraction is located in Orchaa which is just an incredible place to visit. i would suggest staying two days in Orchaa itself if you're a history buff like I am. These chatris (basically a structure built in memory of the Kings of Bundelkhand) are located in the same region as the "Orchaa Palace", "Laxmi Narayan Temple", "Ram Raja Mandhir", "Chaturbhuj Temple" etc.
Orchaa, Madhya Pradesh is chalked full of amazing historical gems and each and every one of them is definitely a must see.
From the Chatri here once you climb up the stairs - you see amazing views of the clean & flowing Betwa River - which is also popular with tourists for White Water rafting!
