Fosdalen

Reviewed By Mer21maid

We visited Fosdalen on a stormy and partly rainy day, which was perfect as you walk in the beautiful small valley inside the woods where the wind does not get a lot of a grip. We walked the short ‘red’ 2.5 km hike, and it was fine & beautiful. The entrance to the red path was not well marked though, so I hope that will be improved. Walking in Fosdalen you get the feeling of being in a Danish prehistoric forest where a raptor could show up anytime ????. You can also ‘climb’ the valley (but remember that nothing is very tall in Denmark ⛰????) and reach places with beautiful views of the surrounding landscape & the sea. At the ‘church end’ of the red path you find a nice picnic area even with a fancy outdoor grill and firewood). Also an old sacred spring, Vor Frue Kilde, begins in that end of the red path. Highly recommendable.

Skulpturparken Blokhus

20.000 m2 most exciting sculpturepark in beautifull gardens. Sand sculpture festival from May till december and magic Christmas show in november and december. Restaurant, cafe, artshop availible.

We visited on a cloudy day after rainfall period. The rain did not spoil the sculptures. Approx. ten huge sculptures made in sand impressed us with adventurous Disney figures/characters. And several wooden sculptures are found around in the nicely held park / big garden. Finally samples of art made by various artists could be seen and bought before leaving the park.

Visited the Centre for Paper Art with my family. It is a really great place to visit and worth all the money. Price level is affordable for all. From outside the building looks a bit worn, and the signposting could be better. But what fantastic surprise when you step inside. Building is totally renovated and you enter a fantastic world of paper. Exhibitions are really beautifly, lighting is amazing, and it was a very positive experience to visit the Centre for Paper Art. The Centre is quite family friendly and the workshop for kids is funny. A lot of opportunities to be creative. Not our last visit to the Centre for Paper Art. Best recommendations from here.
