Blydenburgh Park

I cannot recount how many times I have walked the trails of this beautiful park sandwiched between major roads in a populous suburban area. Could be 100 or more. But, when you are inside, it is you and nature, including a pond/lake big enough that you cannot see the whole thing from any spot; it took me 4 hours to walk around it. This park is beautiful in all seasons, but mostly in the fall and when it snows. I went kayaking on the pond one day and it was one of the most relaxing days I can remember. Great place. You have to drive there unless you live nearby, but walk once inside. There are entrances on three sides, though one fairly hidden (you have to drive through side streets) and one on a secondary road. Is it one of the world's great attractions? No. But, it is among the best LI has to offer.

The grounds are lovely and the home is wonderful. Tours are limited to Thursday through Sunday at 1pm and have a $12 charge. There is an attractive cafe also. We enjoyed walking around looking at the well maintained grounds and several weddings in progress.

Bethpage Ballpark

Reviewed By VaBelle35 - Manassas, VA

When I checked into my room at the Residence Inn, I saw a ballpark outside the window. I looked it up online and saw that it was a professional (not MLB) baseball team ballpark and they were playing a playoff game that night. I love baseball and frequent our local MLB and AA team stadiums at home, so this was right up my alley.

Parking is across the street, but I could have (and should have) walked from my hotel. It is well lit, lots of people and 2 people at the cross street to the park who can answer questions.

Inside the park was very nice. Typical of minor league ball parks. The entertainment between innings was not as diverse as those at MLB minor league parks, but was still fun (just a t-shirt toss).

This was a playoff game an it was packed with families. As a solo person, I was able to get the seat right behind home plate, which was fun.

Definitely a great place to visit. I highly recommend it.

An Escape Room is a live action game starring you and a group of people. You will work together as a team to look for clues, solve puzzles, and complete challenges in order to accomplish the room's mission in under 60 minutes.

Reviewed By truthintravel60763 - New York City, New York

This was like a first date. You don't know what to expect. The clues were obscure but by the time we got the hang of it the clock ran out. We went with a big crowd and the room was small so we were elbowing each other the entire time. We did have fun and it took a lot of ingenuity as we started to roll and got though the letter locks and a number lock. Good thing I was tall enough to reach the top lock. I think the second time around it would be a four. Note that for those with phobias. There is a door you can leave through if you don't like it. The staff was extremely friendly and able to give you up to three clues. Go. Get frustrated and maybe have a glass of wine just before you go. No drinks or food served there. Then check it off your bucket list.
