Harpswell is a town in Cumberland County, Maine, United States, within Casco Bay in the Gulf of Maine. The population was 4,740 at the 2010 census. Harpswell is composed of land contiguous with the rest of Cumberland County, called Harpswell Neck, as well as three large islands connected by bridges: Sebascodegan Island (locally known as Great Island), Orr's Island, and Bailey Island and over 200 smaller islands. Harpswell is part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford, Maine Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Ash Cove Pottery

Open most days: 10 am - 6 pm. Susan Horowitz & Gail Kass make each piece of pottery by hand using traditional techniques. Visit their studio and showroom full of mugs, chowder bowls, lamps, serving pieces, bathroom sets, ikebanas, vases, tide clocks, judaica and much more. Earthtones, shades of blue and green glazes predominate the pottery's color scheme. You'll find some tenmouku (black) glazes, as well.Enjoy the lovely gardens - take in the scenic views of Casco Bay. We're in South Harpswell, down a narrow peninsula jutting out into the Atlantic. We're 12.5 miles south of Bowdoin College, in Brunswick, Maine. Take Route 123, turn right onto Ash Cove Rd (AFTER Ash Point Rd) and right again at the shore. Follow the narrow lane to Ash Cove Pottery.
