The Warplane Museum is a great place to learn about history up close and personal. The personal touches and changing displays means there's something for everybody. Remember though that this is a real piece of working history so don't touch the aircraft, and the place runs on donations so if you're able to and feel moved it helps restore more planes and pieces of history. We've also done a ride on the warplanes and my hubby had an absolutely amazing time.

The HMCS Haida is one of the main attractions in Hamilton and one of the highlights of the waterfront Harbor area. It's one of Hamilton's National Historic Sites and Canada's most famous warship.
The Haida is easily accessible from downtown and during the summer there's a free shuttle to the waterfront Trail where you can access the ship. Free parking is available a short walk away at Williams.
This is a great place to visit if you’re a history lover or traveling with kids. The HMCS Haida is the last remaining tribal class destroyer in the world and a true piece of Canadian history.
The Haida has been painstakingly restored and paints a vivid picture of how life was like for sailors during World War II. The ship was added as a National Historic Site due to its historic and Architectural significance to Canada.
When you're visiting the ship it's possible to go on a tour of the interior. You can listen to Uniformed interpreters and hear stories from Naval veterans. On special events you can hear the ship Bells and if you're lucky you'll hear the cannon!
The Haida is open during the summer months from 10 until 5. Entry to the ship is $3.90.

Have been to Dundurn Park many times over the years for walk a thons, festivals, Concerts, meals and just for a relaxing walk about. The castle , home of the late Sir Allan McNab, is beautiful . There are many guides that inform you of the family that lived in the castle over the years. Sir Allan McNab is a distant relative of Prince Charle's wife Camilla. She and the prince visited here a few years ago. Dundurn Castle is a treasure indeed for the city of Hamilton.

Located just a couple kilometres from downtown, Bayfront is one of the city's crown jewel parks. A wide, paved, 3km multi-use trail connects it to princess point, and it's a great place for walking, cycling and roller skating. There is also a boat launch and it's an awesome place for kayaks and canoes, or to just find a quiet place to nap under a tree in the summertime. Love it.

Lovely paths to visit both of Albion and Buttermilk Falls. Due to safety, and understandably, there apparently are no paths that lead to the base of either of the falls. There is a huge drop off. However, the paths are easy to walk and offer good views of the falls. A very enjoyable way to spend the day.

This trail allows for both calm reflection and a great work out with stairs, flat trails and places to stop and catch your breath. The Waterfalls is beautiful and a real treat after the walk in. There were birds gently singing through our walk. We did find many visitors with their dogs off their leashes which we didn't mind and the dogs were definitely enjoying their adventure in the woods.

The village was lovely! The volunteers were amazing ... especially the printer and the visit to the sheep. But, if you are going for the ice cream ... perhaps give it a miss. One sample of one ice cream, on a small plastic spoon ... same size as an ice cream store ... taster. Was expecting to find many samples of home made ice cream ... and the ability to buy tubs to take home. Village was lovely. But, ice cream carnival ... it was not!

Park Lands always well maintained and clean; Children's Museum a must see while there! Play areas for children on the North East corner near Children's Museum and the South West corner (this one has a sprinkler/wading pool) are well maintained. Throughout the summer numerous events take place i.e. It's Your Festival, Festival of Friends, Francofest, Mid-Summer's Dream (to name a few) also, various Concerts and music venues I'm proud that we offer such a wide variety of different Ethnic Venues in our City.

This is a fairly large, mostly modern. museum of art, right in the heart of downtown Hamilton. However, except for an enormous collection of Canadian artists, a few Andy Warhols, and one Louise Nevelson, most of the art is by relatively unknown or obscure artists. It is worthwhile to visit, and an exellent introduction to the wealth of Canadian art.

My husband has always wanted to go to Hamilton to see the Waterfalls. This weekend we visited Albion Falls. We safely viewed the falls from the viewing platform and then we went for a walk on the nature trail. It was an easy hike as long as you have proper shoes and you watch where you're going. There are a lot of tree roots that can trip you up. According to the sign there is poison ivy, ticks and bears. I wanted to encounter none of those things so we stayed on the path. Be very careful where you walk because in some spots if you get too close to the edge you could easily fall over the cliff.
Please note: We followed Google maps to get there and the directions are wrong. Don't use Google maps to get directions.
