Found a grumpy mason, who gruffly asked us what we were doing and when we told him we were looking for a geocache he angrily stated, "I wish they would take it out of here." The cache was gone, so he got his wish. However, his attitude left a bad taste in my mouth for this place.

Besides being an impressive visual and acoustical facility, Armstrong presents equally impressive performances by world-renowned artists, many of which are rarely if ever seen in our area. And they do it with subsidies that keep the price of admission ridiculously low. For many reasons this...MoreOur mission is to bring monumental cultural experiences here to Oklahoma as a world class center for the performing arts. We didn't plan to go through the museum, just wanted to get some information for walking around the town. Mike, however, started telling us about Oklahoma history and Guthrie. Oklahoma has quite an interesting history. The 1902 Carnegie Library is next door. I really encourage people to stop here before seeing the other buildings in town dating from 1890.

I'm currently in school to become a dental assistant. Our class met up in Guthrie for a field trip. It was really interesting and a little mind boggling to see the old medications and instruments used. Really not all that long ago. It makes you really appreciate how far the medical field has come along. Really interesting small museum. It is worth the stop!

Hear the Histories behind the Mysteries! Take a 90minute walking tour of locations in Historic Downtown Guthrie as we visit the sites that are historically most active for paranormal activity. Oklahoma's First Capital and it's unique Victorian architecture create the perfect backdrop for storytelling at its finest. Tours are suitable for all ages and are wheelchair and stroller friendly.

For $10, definitely worth your time. The tour I went on last night lasted about two hours. Not a lot of walking, but some (maybe a half-mile? I'm not really sure). Most of the time is spent listening to Stacy, the guide, tell stories about the old buildings.

This is not one of those ghost walks where people jump out and try to scare you and everything is scripted. Stacy has obviously done her research from the old newspapers and shares the stories she's found, including the, possibly, paranormal activity that has been reported. She's a very good story teller. It is an entertaining way to learn about the history of Guthrie (and get a little creeped-out, too).

We stumbled across this cute store while in Guthrie. They were having their licorice festival. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. There was tons of licorice to sample. The chocolate licorice ice cream is delicious! Apart from the special event this would be a fun store to explore. It is full of made in the US handmade arts and crafts. There is a lot more in here than you'd expect and it's definitely worth checking out.
