I have to admit to approaching the breakfast ride with some trepidation. I don't particularly like horses but wanted to treat the family to a U.S. horseback experience. Furthermore, my feeling was that spending in excess of $300 was fairly outrageous and incredibly extravagant. However, from start to finish I have to say that I was won over by the service forwarded. Craig, our wrangler, was first class. He was fun, informative and we all felt incredibly comfortable with him leading the party. The breakfast was enjoyed by all, the wranglers cooked up a storm (great pancakes) and entertained us throughout. Our route took us through woodland, meadows and offered some stunning scenery. We were visiting from England and in our three weeks in Colorado we undertook all sorts of fun and engaging activities but the horseback riding was my family's favourite. May, my 10 year old loved every minute of the ride, she particularly liked Craig who she said was 'the nicest person in Colorado'! That either says a lot about Craig or Colorado!! Anyway, from someone who isn't a horse fan and who doesn't like being taken for a ride....financially...I have to say I'd do it all over again. Thanks for a great experience.

We have enrolled our kids at 3 different ski schools over the years and we found a winner here at Granby Ranch. Go see Paul Britt (manager) and his staff. They do an AMAZING job with their ski school. Less congested and less expensive then other places. I had the greatest joy as at the end of the day I was able to go down the bunny hill with my kids as they finished their lessons. Such great CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Drive the extra 25-30 minutes to ski and have kids in ski school in a wonderful family atmosphere. Also be sure to stop up on the 3rd floor of the lodge and see Nico, he’ll get you right with a couple of beverages, food and I recommend the chili

I've stayed at this establishment several times when in the area on business. The cabins are well-appointed with large kitchens, etc. Many have been remodeled recently with new carpet, etc. The wifi has been greatly enhanced as has the satellite television. Friendly and helpful staff. It is about 5 miles to Granby and about 10 to Winter Park/Fraser area. Only about 25 miles to Grand Lake.

We are horse owners and ride competitively so we weren't sure what to expect when we booked a three hour ride. We were pleasantly surprised when we got a great ride through some beautiful country on very nice horses. We would highly recommend high country trails as a great experience at a super value. Rebecca showed us some beautiful country and was very informative about the area. Please be honest about your riding ability and they will find you the perfect horse and take you on a safe and fun ride.

Grand County is fortunate to have several fine golf course and Grand Elk rates in my top two. The course is well designed and maintained. Nice club house but not a huge retail operation which is fine. The views may distract from your game. Put this one on your golf bucket list. Check out the twilight rates for the best deal.

A small sidewalk placard noting "growlers" caught our attention as we were heading for the train station in Granby. Wiith an extra hour to spare we decided to explore what would be inside "Everybody's Brewing It" a brewing and fermenting shop. To our pleasant surprise a small brewery with seven seater taproom was located in the back of the store. Six decent beers on tap, the IPAs were vey good. Tired a sampler and brought a collapsible Eco-growler. A nice stop as one is traveling though route 40 on the way to RMNP.
