Beautiful park suitable for all ages. Wonderful, leafy park in the center of town which is suitable for the whole family. Well maintained equipment, toilets and Gardens. We often visit when passing through.

Situated up on Rocky hill. The momeument gives uninterrupted views of Goulburn. You can walk up inside the monument, which is a stunning building. The nice surprise was the military museum. Full of history from all wars, things I have not seen before, including an original door from Changi.

We dropped in here on our way south and spoke to a pleasant helpful staff member who explained that the town was booked out for accommodation due to a number of special events. Luckily he was able to find us a cabin in a caravan park which he contacted and was held for us. We were very grateful for such an efficient service.

Kids will want to stop here,although as it can no longer be seen from the highway (and there are no signs on the turnoff) you need to find it. Take the second (south-most) exit to Goulburn off the freeway, and you will find it is literally 30 seconds up the road back towards Goulburn.
Plenty of parking, but the silly sheep faces the road and the entrance to the gift shop is poorly paid out and not welcoming at all. It feels like you are entering the building through the sheep's bum!
Council (or whoever is responsible for running this) needs to have a long hard look at this. This is an ideal opportunity to have some sort of local tourist attraction, yet all they have really delivered is a 40 foot fiberglass sheep (with a rubbish shop attached). Take a leaf out of the Big Banana's book and reinvent yourself as a proper tourist attraction, not just some "big thing" attached to the carpark of the local service station.
Really Goulburn. You need to have a long, hard look at yourselves.

Lots of separate camping spots in an unspoiled native park. Plenty of kangaroos and other wildlife and good facilities. Probably gets busy during holidays.
There are excellent walking tracks with a variety of degrees of difficulty. The two main Lookouts are serviced by smooth wide footpaths and would be easily accessible for prams or wheelchairs. The mesh floors of the Lookouts let you see straight through to the bottom of the valley. The views are just spectacular.
You can see the Marulan Limestone mine to the north and whilst its presence could be considered a blot on the landscape, it does provide a significant contrast to the pristine beauty of the gorges and serves to highlight the overall vista.

Listed on the NSW State Heritage Register, St Saviour's is an Anglican Cathedral which is an excellent representation of a Victorian era Gothic style architecture.
This Cathedral is stunning both inside and out with a beautiful ornate design and stained glass windows throughout - it's a definite must visit when in Goulburn.

Garroorigang is an Historic Home - part of Goulburn's history for 158 years. Step back in time to a house which is full of Victorian and Edwardian furniture, books, and other items from those periods. It is still a lived-in family home for the Hume family (collateral descendants of Hamilton Hume), which is open to the public.

A small party of 7 were completely mesmerised by the quality of this historic home. It is an example of a well preserved, lovingly maintained family home which has been in the same family for at least three generations. Our guide, one of the owners, is old enough to be a grandfather, so it is conceivable that 6 or even 7 generations have lived here.
The family name is Hamilton Hume - check out the history before coming, in order to get maximum value from your visit.
Almost every room is open to the public.
There are a few stairs to negotiate.

We dropped in on a quiet Sunday morning. The building is halve of a massive roundhouse( 47 track) . Most of the stock is in a rundown state and shows little attempt to restore.There were a couple of Lachlan Valley heritage engines being restored. There was some very interesting rolling stock including two wonderful cranes that are crying out for further Restoration. They have some rare and unique pieces that need money and TLC but like so many of these places the skills die out and there is never enough money. We were happy to pay the $10 entry fee and enjoyed our self giuded tour. All exhibits are static and I am not sure if they ever have any live steam days with visiting stock.

a stunning Cathedral currently undergoing some maintenance. The stained glass windows are amazing and the acoustics are divine! We just missed the 10:00 mass so we'll have to come back again to experience this place as it was intended.

Experience the age of steam: Step back in time to the late 1800s when Goulburn was one of the first regional centres to supply piped drinking water to its residents. The Goulburn HIstoric Waterworks has remained intact with a pumphouse and original 1883 working steam beam engine. This rare facility, set on the picturesque banks of the Wollondilly River, is the only complete, operational, steam powered municipal water supply left in its original location, in the Southern Hemisphere. The buildings and engines are of national significance and are registered with the National Trust of Australia. Picnic & BBQ area, playground. Engines operate throughout the year. To visit this museum is an unexpected pleasure. This facility pumped water to Goulburn residents using steam operated pumps. The building contains the original boilers and pump. Apparently, it is the only steam powered municipal water supply left in its original location, in the Southern Hemisphere. Throughout the year, there are days where the steam engine is operating and this would be a magnificent site. The museum is a credit to the local community and the volunteers who help run it. The museum is located in a beautiful position, with lovely Gardens, picnic tables and a river to enjoy. Entry is by donation.
