This would have been interesting and fun in the sixties, but it is not today. Rides and exhibits are simply dated and the storyland themes are not interesting to kids beyond the age of six.

Impressive collection of trains and cars. Everyone there was very friendly. We did get the cautionary warning to keep our children near and that we were responsible for any damage. It's probably an hour activity at best. It's one of those things to check off your list of North Conway area activities but it's not probably something you'd repeat.

We were 2 couples and we did the 3 hour tour. Dick was our guide and has an amazing personality. He was also very patient with others on the tour!
The views were awesome, from the overlooks to the bridges and streams.
If you have the chance to do take any of their tours, please do. You will not regret it.

Ample parking along the roadside. The falls are a series of stepped granite falls, pools, and cool rock formations. Great for exploring both in the water and alongside . Be sure to wear water shoes, as the wet rocks are very slippery.

Went and did the intro to ice climbing with a small group and a guide. It was a bitter cold day and after a challenging hike through the snow I got very cold. The guide was very accomidating bringing along and extra parka and sharing his hot chocolate. This made the day a great at experience with fun climbs and good people. We stayed in the bunk house that night and it's very affordable and nice enough for a group stay area.

Long winding steep road to the top but the views are well worth it. You may be lucky enough to see rock climbers scaling the ledge. Be sure to walk all around as there are multiple different views of different areas, Some have fencing to make it safer but there are other areas that you can get to to view other rock ledges and walls that have no fencing. A must if you are in the area.

We are novice skiers and had a great time. Clifton and his coworkers were wonderful. The equipment we rented was first rate and the trails were nicely prepared and very scenic. We skied down along the river and also up along trail 2. The soup and fresh bread were also terrific. You simply can't have a better XC skiing experience [a member from a XC ski club said it was their favorite location in the area and we can see why].

I took a Paint Your Pet class at Jackson Art Studio with Melanie last spring and it was wonderful in every way. The instruction, atmosphere and entire experience was just perfect and I look forward to attending another class. Melanie is an experienced and talented artist who knows how to teach, demonstrate and encourage the participants. Right next door to the classroom is an exquisite gallery of incredible artwork from local artists and you're only a few steps away from the magnificence of New Hampshire's White Mountains.

A gift shop with a difference, the walk over the bridge brings you to a deceptively large shop. It carries the usual touristy stuff as well as craft handiwork. The proprietor is very helpful and friendly, parking is somewhat limited, but you should find something you like here.

Wildcat Mountain is probably most famous as a ski area. Well, we have never been here in the winter, but it is our favorite summer attraction in the White Mountains of NH. There are three gondola rides to the top of mountains in NH: Wildcat, Loon, and Cannon (see my review of Cannon). The one that provides the best views is easily Wildcat. You can see the whole Presidential Mountain Range, including the best views of Mt. Washington you'll ever see. Sure, going up Mt. Washington is an experience, but it's usually windy and cold up there, you can't stay long if you take a van or train, and it's almost always too cloudy to see very far. But viewing Mt. Washington from the top of Wildcat is a truly memorable experience. You can actually see the cars on the Auto Road from here.
Wildcat is also the most "natural" of the three gondola mountains: there is no gift shop or cafe on top. (There aren't even restrooms; the ones at the base are very clean and spacious.) There is nothing commercialized about it: just nature, pure and simple. There are several excellent trails on top of Wildcat, one of which takes you to an observatory deck. Another is too long to complete but is great fun; just return the way you came. The gondola ride itself is thrilling. You are in a small gondola (meant for 4 people; our family actually split two gondolas for this reason) and you are riding directly to the peak surrounded by gorgeous views. The rides up and down are about ten minutes each; enjoy every second of them.
At the base is a lovely trail to Thompson Falls (which is an extension of the shorter "Way of the Wildcat" trail). It's worth coming here just for this beautiful trail alone. (There are other great ones, like Glen Ellis Falls and Crystal Cascade in the area nearby, the heart of Pinkham Notch).
Our one caveat is that one of our favorite parts about coming here used to be the lovely picnic tables at the base near a beautiful brook, a truly "natural" place to eat, if ever there was one. The problem is that the managers of Wildcat are now blasting loud rock music from loudspeakers right over the tables!! If you are reading this, please turn the music off, or at least turn down the volume quite a bit.
Though some people come here for the Zipline, we didn't use it, though it looks like fun. We just love the spectacular views from the summit of Wildcat and the immensely enjoyable gondola ride up. Please keep this natural place as natural as it always has been!
