Frisco in Colorado is a small town close to several ski resorts. With fantastic scope for skiing and other outdoor pursuits as well as being a great base from which to explore Colorado and the Rocky Mountains, Frisco describes itself as the Main Street of the Rockies, and is a great place for a family holiday.The first stop for many tourists in Frisco will be the Frisco Nordic Center at the Peninsula Recreation Area, with facilities for skating, cross country skiing and snowshoeing throughout the winter months. The Breckenridge and Copper Mountain ski resorts are also nearby and provide all sorts of skiing and snowboarding opportunities. Any outdoor enthusiast will certainly find a huge range of ski trails and activities for all levels of experience and ability. If you're feeling particularly adventurous, you can even take the whole family white water rafting! In the evenings, Frisco is a small town, but contains an impressive number of restaurants, shops and nightlife. And if you need a break from the slopes, the Frisco Historic Park & Museum is great for kids, a collection of preserved and reconstructed historic buildings which chart Frisco's development from trapper camp to mining town to its present day tourist haven.

This museum village is very well presented. The staff person who welcomed us was friendly and informative.
Admission is free (though donations are very much appreciated). The local community/government realizing the benefit of supporting this asset, wisely helps with funding.
The main building houses recently upgraded displays, providing a wealth of information on the area. The railroad diorama is not only a nice perspective, but it's fun to watch.
The easily accessible out buildings are well conceived (with the audio & video narratives being an added plus); and offer one a sense of what life must have been here 100-150 years ago.
One of the joys of travel, for us, is learning about the historic uniqueness (and similarities) of communities across the country. This attraction certainly fits that objective.
This museum is a definite "must stop", if one is visiting the area.

The Frisco Adventure Park is minutes from Frisco's charming Main Street, and in the winter, hosts a lift assisted tubing hill and a beginner ski/ride hill, as well as over 45k of cross-country ski/snowshoe trails and horse drawn sleigh ride dinners. The beginner ski/ride hill located adjacent to the tubing hill offers lessons taught by Copper Mountain instructors in the most laid back and easy going environment possible- a friendly surface lift to get you up the hill, a cozy lodge, free parking right next to the hill and instructors who will help you graduate to the "big mountain" at Copper. But remember- you can tackle this hill without instructors if you choose, and it is perfect for kids and adults alike. The Adventure Park sits on the beautiful Frisco Peninsula and is surrounded by Dillon Reservoir affording unforgettable water and mountain views in every direction. And in the summer, the Frisco Adventure Park boasts great free amenities including miles of mountain biking/hiking/running trails, a bike park, a skate park and a disc golf course. Camping is also available on National Forest Service land on the Peninsula. The Adventure Park Day Lodge offers free bathrooms and a comfortable base camp for activities year-round and hosts special and private events including weddings, family reunions, bike/running races and birthdays.

It was so much fun! We went to the earliest session at 10 am and it wasn't crowded at all. However, 11 am session already had a crowd.
Tubing is really fun and the first couple of rides are so exiting and full of adrenaline, especially when the staff spins you. But how already was mentioned before, it gets boring after 30 min. 1 hour was more than enough for us. The magic carpet ride up the hill takes a while. And even though we didn't have to wait to take a ride down the hill, we did a total of 8 rides down in 1 hour.

Went in Saturday morning to rent kayaks. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the equipment was in great shape. We did experience a delay for weather...but when we got on the water it was calm as can be. We even got to see two osprey and a bald eagle staring down on us. I realize the marina can't control that, but it was pretty awesome! The restaurant in the marina was great too...

Located close to Frisco this is a nice little trek but the lake itself isn't really much. It must be more the experience. However, there are other offshoot trails that lead high into the nearby mts. for a great experience.

GatherHouse Glassblowing Studio & Gallery is located in beautiful downtown Frisco, Colorado.It is the working artist's studio of John Hudnut. John teaches classes and gives free public demonstrations on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday afternoons. Fascinating for all ages.

great trail-moderate difficulty but if youre not in shape, and go slowly, as I did, you will enjoy it. Views of small waterfalls and dense pinewoods.

It's not the beer, the beer was fine, but the service was just awful. We were looking over the board and remarked that we do like hoppy IPAs and CLEARLY were still looking. The bartender poured my husband a pint of the IPA he thought he would like and then was off to the next customer, who he was already in a deep conversation with. What?! Needless to say, we were one and done. What a bizarre experience. And never even asked me if I wanted anything!!!

With all the great Nordic centers in Summit county, the Frisco center is disappointing. The trail map really needs to coordinate better with the trail markers. Not well marked and very confusing since the trails go thru the campground, there is a lot of confusing signage. The trails were not well groomed and some not groomed at all. The staff is friendly and nice. Also, be aware there is a local sledding hill that crosses the trail and it is just an accident waiting to happen, as you ski you have kids sledding across the ski trails. They are trying to do something about this,but nothing yet. It is also a very congested place because the adventure park,ski center are all located in the same area. This is not the place to go for peace and quiet.

We were greeted warmly there (even though inappropriately dressed, by my standards) and enjoyed the lovely facility. It is a contemporary worship service with songs most 50-and-overs do not know, but we felt very welcome.
