Pine Tree Apple Orchard

Seasonally closed until mid-June. Pine Tree Orchard is seasonally open August through March for apples and apple products. During the fall they offer weekend entertainment, wagon rides, pumpkin patch and corn maze. Mid June to early July for Strawberries. Hours vary with the season.

You know it gets busy when when the local law enforcement is out there. September is not bad, but the officer said it gets crazy in October. According to a staff member and the web site you can not pick apple but you can pick pumpkins. It was still busy but a lot of room in the parking lot. I was in the store so I did not see the other area. Of what I saw, the other area seemed to be hopping and energetic. From what I could see, they did not charge for the hay rides. The web site says there are pony rides and a corn as well during the fall. The store seemed sterile. The staff was helpful but seemed more focused on stocking or cashiering than the customer. The apples were a little high in price but the two places we went to were comparable. They did have samples out to taste. They had refrigerated items, jellies, syrups, and honey to buy as well. I am sure other States have their apple areas but I do miss the one near Placerville, California which had a lot of growers in a concentrated area.

The workers/owners are very nice and friendly. It took two tries to make sure the weather worked but we did get to jump. It was awesome and I would do it again. They will take video and photos of you while you jump - both are worth the extra fee.

We went out to watch the live races and enjoy dinner with friends- imagine our surprise when they said it was buffet only no more orders from a menu. Food was less than delicious it all was tasteless. Ham, BBQ chicken, meat loaf and rigitoni for the main course, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, gr and brown beans and 3 choices of salad. My husband said the best part was the dessert, ice cream brownies and cherry pie.
We were very disappointed in the food and the only other choice was the card room take out which had most of the same food as the buffet. The saving grace was the soup both chicken wild rice and spicy chicken were great!
If you are hungry be sure to eat before you go.

This museum was established in 1972 to preserve, present and promote Swedish immigrant heritage. I was part of a tour taking a journey back in time to the first Swedish settlement in Minnesota. There are five old, fully furnished buildings in Gammelgarden that show the perseverance, courage, sacrifice and faith of those who came to Minnesota seeking a new life back in the 1850's.

Atmosphere is fine. Seems like it would be better suited to a mid-winter night than the beautiful day it was this afternoon. Cool Nordic themes which I like. Friendly sever.

Dead End Hayride

Reviewed By Angela H - Maplewood, Minnesota

This place was awesome. First and foremost, their customer service was amazing! We went to Trail of Terror first and the woods were closed today, yet they wouldn't refund my money. We left $86 in tickets we can't use and drove all the way to Dead End Hayride. I will never go to Trail of Terror again because I am so mad they are forcing me to keep tickets I can't use. It was so much better than Trail of Terror and worth every dollar. The lines were super long the night we went and I am handicapped so I can't stand very long, they upgraded us to VIP when explained I can't stand that long and asked for a refund. I am so grateful they didn't do us wrong like Trail of Terror did. On top of that, Dead End Hayride is so much better than Trail of Terror! I can't believe how much money they put into their Haunted Trail/Mazes. I will come back here again.... Every single year! :-)

Moderately-priced course with nearly 7,000 yards set in a scenic landscape with 15 water holes and plenty of bunkers.

Really poorly groomed golf course; lots of rough consisting of huge weeds which are impossible to search for a ball in. There are far better courses in the area. Nice little clubhouse with a good menu.
