Lots of cars from many decades. Most cars had the back story of the car written along side. Place is very large so it does not feel crowded.

Time seems to have passed over this store; it is the old-fashioned type general store that has not stood the test of time in most locales. My dad had stumbled upon Washburn's when visiting a family friend in nearby Union Mills, NC. I'm so glad I got to visit with him this time!
First, the owner (and this place has been family-owned since the 1830s) sits on a bench in the front of the store & chats with visitors. There is also a wonderful elderly dog sleeping somewhere in the store. And time has passed over the prices as well. I purchased a number of gifts (for others & for myself!) for less than $50 total. Great kitchenware, local crafts, & food (e.g. molasses, chow chow, jam). As a bonus, they even have Blenheim ginger ale, which is difficult to find elsewhere. What a lovely spot!

My spouse and I were just hanging out around the house trying to figure out what to do on a beautiful fall afternoon when we decided to make a short trip to Spindale, Nc to ride the Thermal Belt Rail to Trail. I am so glad we did!! It was a great day on the somewhat easy mountain biking trails. Rolling hills, approximately 2 miles paved and the other miles was fine pebble stone. There is a historical site along the way that talks about the era when gold was being mined in the area. A local jeweler was there and further enlightened us about the history of Rutherford. Very friendly. Loved seeing all the historical mills in the area. I would definitely recommend this ride to anyone including families. After we finished the ride we drove a short distance and ate at The Shak. I would definitely recommend eating here, it's worth the drive.
I'm looking forward for the completion of the extensions!!

Ever-changing selection of craft brews on tap and bottled beer. Something for everyone. Good live local music on the weekends. Friendly staff. Cool and comfortable space with several seating options if you don't want to belly up to the bar. Tables for games. TVs for game night. Good beer to go selection and wine too.
Great event hosted by The Pear. Painting was well directed with a fun atmosphere. Great selection of beer and wine. The staff were helpful with our selections. Will be back again.

The pieces range from the functional to the formal and are truly unique. A great place to visit.Thank you so much. We are glad you enjoyed our gallery. We hope to see you again soon!

The information was well presented. The docent made the history live. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The house was clean and well arranged. It told the story of the mint with lots of pictures and information boards. We were also directed...MoreThank you Deborah for visiting and for the review. The N.C. Gold Rush is a part of history that often gets forgotten. If you are a history buff make sure to check out the N.C. Gold Trail for other sites throughout the state.

The owners were so nice. They greeted us when we walked in like we were long lost friends. I won't say some of the booths were cluttered, just a little too full with some items you had to walk around. You could still see and get to everything in the booth. You will find furniture, collectibles, vintage clothes, China, glass, art, lamps, toys, jewelry, and other odds and ends. Forest City is a lovely, quaint little town and if you are in the area I think you should make a side trip and visit this antique shop.

Wednesday is half price day for piercings. Piercer gets there around 2:30pm. She is very friendly and gentle. I always have trouble with healing, she was very patient and accommodating each time I went in for her to check. The aspirin paste she suggested greatly helped.

All items are unique to the area and made by local artists. The inventory is constantly turning over and includes 2d and 3d art. It's run by an all volunteer staff anxious to please.
