Kokoda Trail Memorial Walk

Reviewed By Bigredhawker - Melbourne, Australia

A beautiful setting in Ferntree National Park. One of many things to do there. Great walks, BBQ facilities catering for couples and/or larger groups. Plenty of parking. The Kakoda Trail Memorial Walk itself is located at the upper end of the top carpark. An awesome way to shed some kilo's or simply taking it easy and taking in the ambiance of the walk. Many steps to the top but not too hard if you take your time. Not uncommon to see joggers up and down during the walk. Used by many sporting groups. Very pleasant with many fern glades and views throughout. Plaques are a feature documenting Kokoda and the importance it played to Australia and indeed the world during the latter part of WW2. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors from Interstate or Overseas.

Great place for a nice brisk walk. Mountain biking is also possible and you can create a nice little course with enough up & downhills. Kangaroos aplenty, great to show tourists

That Little Brewery

Reviewed By MelbourneDes - Melbourne

I read about this new business located in FTG and went around to see. Very cute and very quaint atmosphere. A food truck highlighting Nepalese food was on the premise. The owners are specializing in sour beers with flavourings (not to my taste) but I did like their brewed pale ale. We will go back. Seemed very very popular with locals as mums, bubs, and dads were to be found there on a Sat afternoon around 3 o clock
Popularity might force it to relocate to something bigger in the future...Love the idea of using factory locations for new food and beverage outlets. With in Boronia and Knox Ferntree gulley area there are three that I know of and I like these hidden gems
