Our family has always loved visiting Grimes Point. It is neat to see how people historically lived here so long ago. The hiking tour through the Churchill County Museum and the BLM is fantastic. It's a great way to spend an hour or sometimes more, hiking around and looking at the petroglyphs.

I've been to a lot of small town museums in my days but this has got to be the cleanest and the most professionally displayed museum I've ever seen. There were tons of different and historical things to see. I definitely recommend this museum to anyone who is travelling on the Loneliest Road in America.

Bob Lattin and his family have run this combined produce stand/family restaurant/fall attraction for many years. The produce stand is open (usually) late May to early October. What is available varies with the season. Most of the produce comes from fields that are next to the stand. It is a real farm-to-market operation. On any particular day you may find extended Lattin family members working the stand. The produce is organic, and may look a little less fancy than the polished stuff you see in a supermarket, but it is fresh and ripe (tomatoes, especially). It is expensive, though. In October there is a huge cornfield maze, and more pumpkins, of more different sizes and colors than you would believe.

We went by the Naval Air Station in Fallon, Nevada.
We liked remembering our prior visit.
We were delighted on one visit to be treated to an awesome "free" and "unexpected" air show. Fallon is where Top Gun pilots do their training. We were treated to over an hour of seeing them practicing doing take offs and landings.
We watched this from Grimes Point area. It was a truly awesome thing to watch.
We also saw them doing ground desert exercises.

I walked in, sifted through the think smoke only to find no live tables. Not my scene so I walked out. If you are looking for a good casino with live games in Fallon...go to Reno.

Fallon Municipal Pool is a fun place to go in the summer. It was built as a WPA (Works Progress Administration) project in the year 1940. It has a water slide. We stopped by and took a photo. It is by Oats Park in Fallon, Nevada.

We were here on a specially planned group tour, coming by bus. Hosts were gracious and informative.
Their Estate Distillery produces gin, vodka, bourbon whiskey, and other spirits using grains grown, distilled, malted and bottled on their historic, 1,200-acre ranch. We toured the 4,000 square-foot distillery and did some tasting of booze and wines. I bought two bottles of wine. It was an interesting visit, worth the time. Displays were great photo ops.

We've heard a lot of buzz about this family-owned & operated vineyard/distillery. The buzz is spot on. Rustic chic tasting room artfully appointed. Here's the best part: not only can you taste their locally-sourced wines but also some interesting and tasty vodka & gin. Perfect! We happily purchased 4 bottles of distinctly different and delicious wines & spirits. We'll be back.

We went to the movies at Fox Peak Cinema in Fallon. The movie theater is new and shows recent releases. The projection system is state of the art. Staff is also nice.

My wife and I traveled here in June and enjoyed this "Oasis in the Desert". This refuge is located in north central Nevada near the town of Fallon. This is a very dry area of Nevada - bring water with you. This refuge was established to benefit migratory wildfowl. We very much enjoyed the auto tour, hiking trails and the visitor/interpretation center. The refuge also offers hunting, camping, photo blinds which we utilized for great photographic opportunities. Bring your family (including children), water, binoculars, camera and enjoy what this beautiful part of Nevada has to offer. This truly is the only water in the area for migrating birds. Check it out it's worth your time.
