Leiper's Fork

I love to shop for art, gifts and unique items for my home in Leiper's Fork. Step back in time and warm by the outdoor fire pits, listen to music and get some fresh country air. I immediately destress and relax when I'm out there. I love the David Arms Gallery and some of the other fun shops. We had the meat and two at Puckett's. The fried chicken was good but the sides were kind of gross. The mash potatoes were thin and runny, the baked beans were fresh (from the can) and the green beans were just flat - nothing great about an over-priced lunch on a paper plate. I guess we'll check out The Country Boy across the street or the boutique restaurant a few doors down.

Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge

We were driving the Old Tenassee Trail loop, starting in Franklin. A lovely circuit which included some park stops in downtown Franklin and talking to some of the locals. Friendly folks. And we visited part of the old Natchez trace, that we would later pick up again in Natchez, Mississipi. Amazing remnant of the trail/road system the pioneers and early traders used. Something to think about when you think today's roads take too long!

Was recently in Leiper's Fork to see our son's art on display there. Went next door to visit D Arms shop. Very nice, unique with a seeming emphasis on paper goods - books, notecards, etc. Just a small place to look around. Don't miss it if you are in the area. And it is in a beautiful setting.

Timberland Park

This is a new park on the west side of Franklin off the Natchez Trace. Currently there are about 3 miles of trails. It is still a new park and they are developing the trails. It is an excellent example of what the hills of that part of Franklin are like. A bit of up and down and some beautiful woods. It is nice to have some wooded trails in Franklin. It is a small park, but I give it a 5 Star rating for what it is. Some wooded trails near Franklin. There is a nice building onsite with restrooms and staff to answer questions. We really enjoyed our hike there in the beautiful fall sunshine. I bet it will be nice and cool in the summer. You have to enter it by getting on the Natchez Trace and the park entrance is just south of the big bridge over Hwy 96.

Leiper's Fork Distillery is a small batch artisan distillery featuring unaged spirits, Leipers's Fork's first bourbon since prohibition and premium spirits.
