After reading a couple of reviews, I was tentative to play here for the first time. The complaints I read were warranted, but not at all enough to affect play. The course is beautifully laid out and is very fair. The few draw backs were some of the fairways were mud caked in spots because of recent rains and aerating, but there were plenty of spots to take a drop. The greens were large, in good shape and putted well. I highly recommend keeping it in the fairways and out of the rough. As for bugs, I didn’t have any problems, but everyone is affected differently, so bring repellent if you needed it. The pro, Jeff Bell and his staff were friendly and welcoming. I will be back.

The map showed walking trails from the park. We started on the golf course trail (starts right across sailing center). Unless you play golf and know when/how to dodge active players - don’t go any further. The 0.25 mile trail to golf course is your endpoint. Beyond that, nice views and serenity to be had at this park - especially weekdays.
