Elk Mountain Ski Resort

One thousand feet of vertical challenge with 27 slopes and trails to challenge skiers and boarders of all ability levels.

Located several miles from a major population center means short lift lines and uncrowded slopes. I really like the way the mountain is laid out because trees are dividing the runs creating a sense of beauty and isolation when cruising down the mountain. I'll be back.

Nimble Hill Vineyard & Winery

Reviewed By UriusT - Vilnius, Lithuania

Wonderful local brewery and winery which I try to visit anytime I'm around the area. Friendly, helpful, and family owned business: Nimble Hill makes you feel good about your purchase. The beers are quite good, and consistent, albeit generally simpler than the most creative breweries. Can't recommend the Outpost enough.

Howard Elmer Park

Reviewed By Bigsmittee

You can go anywhere in the USA and be hard pressed to find a town more like being on the set of the Andy Griffith show. There are Opie's, Aunt Bea's and Goober's here and to me that's a beautiful thing. It's like walking around in a Norman Rockwell painting. The park is beautifully decorated holidays year round, memorials abound, live music often takes place in the park which hosts an impressive outdoor farmers market Fridays in summer, and there's a world class health facility here and a learning hospital that draws people from all over the world to advance knowledge in their field. Church bells chime and play music at various times and the town has a warm and friendly feeling. Nothing fancy or pretentious, just a nice place to be. I highly recommend the Farmers Market Fridays in summer. Get there early for the best selection. Most venders are gone by 3pm.
